She slides into the room with the grace of a ballerina
Her whisper slim body sculpted to dance between raindrops
Eyes focus on her, but she eludes their attention
Her comfort zone lies hidden behind the camera’s lens
Allowing lesser beauty to glean the appreciation of others
Her melodic voice is soft as an angel’s hair
The slow cadence, hypnotic in its appeal
She touches each person without using her hands
A residual presence remains long after she’s gone
Leaving an aura of peace, calm and serenity
Her Cheshire cat smile holds many mysteries
Like a chameleon or actress upon the stage
It changes from that of a confident woman
To the adventuresome grin of a teenager
To the unabashed glee of a little girl
Chestnut eyes provide more than splendor
Protected by a fortress of high cheekbones
She guards this fragile passageway
For her eyes are the portals to her soul
Painful images having imprinted scars upon her heart.
She now lives in a world of love
Currently reserved for four-legged creatures
Unconditional love is rarely found
In the two-legged creature of man
Her soul she protects, but her spirit she gives freely
A continuum of self-reflection and awareness
The years of fertility passing in favor of tranquility
Relaxed in the meditative state of being on her own
She finds comfort in things that do not breathe
One with nature, photographing the beauty of trees
A tree stands tall, with its multitude of arms
Embracing the sun and moon and stars
She has forever changed my vision
I can no longer see a tree as just a tree
For now I see a tree, and a girl named …….
