About Alphamagus
Biography

I am an intelligent, cultured, shaven headed 40 something. I enjoy real women and real conversation. I am not much of a talker at first until you take the time to get to know me, but if you do, you will be pleasantly surprised. I enjoy most pursuits of the mind but hate anything too smutty or crass. I write poetry by myself and stories on here with my oldest and closest lush friend Principessa. A true lady in every sense of the word.

Topic: Prostate Cancer chances high - I guess I should get mine removed now?

I think an 87% chance of contracting cancer makes this decision a no-brainer.

The really brave decision that she has made however is to publicise it.

I think personally that her reasons are humanitarian rather than being a media whore. She is clearly bringing this into the public consciousness and making women who are are perhaps in the same situation but not having the surgery due to vanity reasons, (And I am in no way judging anybody for that) Think to themselves "Well if one of the worlds most beautiful women can do this without feeling any less of a woman...Why can't I?"

For that reason, I think that she should be applauded.

What you're saying though is that we shouldn't even presume to debate the subject.

On the contrary. Debate is one of the healthiest pursuits of the mind.

What I am saying is that no thought has really gone in via this debate to the creators.

Somebody designed the mark, They were probably quite proud of it. It was then probably approved by some other people....Who lets face it, probably help run this site without getting any wages for doing so. Gav then had to spend some time coding, to allow the badge to be used. We are already talking probably over 12 man-hours worth of work. It just seems a little ungrateful to me that it is now being run down by a select few.

This site is a community but not a democracy. The site is Nicola's.....And long may she continue with it.

Who are we? We're the end users! Without end users there isn't any point to development.

If this how Google put stuff out for testing, no wonder they fail so spectacularly whenever they try to launch their own social networking tools

Currently there are 4655 active users on this site!

So far there has been in this thread around five or six people complaining. Would you change your software on the basis of a what a handful of users do not like, or would you look at the 4649 who have found no cause for complaint?

The economics are obvious.

The team here very obviously DO care, or they would not keep making improvements to what is a very well put together site.

Sometimes you have to just realise that some people do not like change. No matter what improvements you make, These people will still find fault.

What's the point of giving it to you then? When I hand stuff out to testers I want them to tell me how everything about it works for them - even at beta testing stage. And if there's something wrong with it for them - no matter what it is - they should tell me. It's then up to me to decide whether their concerns are valid or helpful. User experience is holistic, it's not just if a button does what it says it should.

It is never in the remit for the testing. They are interested in whether the product works, Not in whether or not it is aesthetically pleasing.

The same thing applies here. We are not being asked to comment on whether or not we like the symbol. The Lush admin and design team designed, coded and have voted to use it. Who are we to question them?

Sorry, I am probably only speaking from my perspective over here......We tend to use the tick throughout our national agencies etc, to demonstrate excellence. In fact UKAS (UK accreditation service) uses the tick as their main symbol.

I guess what I am trying to say is the tick in this case, is a new way to provide recognition of something well done. I think on a personal level, that any encouragement that a person can get is a good thing.

Again, my other point is that the management of the site did not open the designing of the new award to offers..... They just decided that they were going to implement what they saw as a step forward as part of the continual improvement of the site. Who are we to argue the point?......It certainly did not cost us anything!

Well I actually like the check...(Working as a quality professional, the check sign is universally known as something of good quality). I appreciate that it is not everybody's cup of tea, but I think that it probably took Gav quite a bit of time and effort to get it right and I think that we should all just sit back and appreciate another new feature that has been served up to us.

I do a lot of beta testing for various bits of google software. I would never think that it is my right to question their logos, buttons or reasons behind the software....I do it, because it is an honour to be asked and I appreciate the fact that they are trying to make peoples online experiences a little better.

So on behalf of me.....I appreciate all of the new features and know just how much coding it must have taken!!

Heart

Hidden in the darkness, Protected by a shell.  The seed that was my heart,  Was wallowing in hell. He could never blossom, In the place where darkness reigns.  No sun could reach his outer.  No strength could break his chains. Women laughed and pointed,  At his foolish, fallen pride.  They jeered at him and spat,  Because to them he often lied. His fate was well deserved. I am not...

Is this me?

Is this my body? Alone, apart from the tapping of keys, Unlocking your soul and spirit across the ether, Bowed by your elegance and fuelled by desire. Is this my desire? Words that arouse and stimulate my mind. Turning my body into a priaptic state. Wishing for, but knowing the futility of distance and dreams. Is this my dream? Wanting to ease your burden and brighten your face. Feeling...

Let Me

Let me love you my darling, for I have to see, Whether these feelings are real or just fantasy. Whether, you are the one my body has craved, Or just another soul that needs to be saved. Are you the one? That elusive grail, or another cheap lover, who's destined to fail? Are you the one who will lead my heart on, To places where, the sun never shone? If you are not false,...

Cynicism

Now gather ye round, All you men, young and old, For mine is a tale, You’ll seldom be told. Oh darling, I love you. Please promise you’re true, And I will spend all my life, Loving no-one but you. You have been told women, With their puppy dog eyes, Want treating like royals, But it’s all fucking lies. I’m a lady, who needs love, Needs intellect...

The Player

Alone in the dark, I get to reminisce, About the girls that I used and the ones I just kissed, The notches too high, the hearts that I have torn, Without a care in the world I gave them my scorn. There should be a special pit of hell, for the man I have been, The way I treated them all was obscene. I fucked them, screwed them and broke all their hearts, Without a bit of...

Gone

The colour has gone from everything. The days are grey. The birds don’t sing. The swallows have stopped their northern flight. The moon has shrouded her peaceful light. The stars have blinked out one by one. There is no magnificence from the sun. The minstrel plays a mournful tune, Its despair ringing through the gloom. There is no peace, no hope, no love. The...

Perspective

To put it into perspective, It seems my prime directive Is to be a little more selective When parking Percy in a hole. It's just he gets excited When by a filly he’s invited To be orally delighted, And rubbed onwards to his goal. But the way forward is monogamy, At the risk of my ignominy, And darling, just to let you see, That you will be the only one. So I will stop being...

The one and only you

I have spent all these years, Full of nothing but tears, Devoid of emotion, Intimacy, commotion. An island in time but the fault is all mine. My heart truly believed, but was always deceived, that there could be a one, my light and my sun. As the years fast did roll, I relinquished this goal. I had sex for its sake, but no ties would I make. Devoid of feeling. ...

Le petit déjeuner parfait

Waking in the morning and seeing you asleep Hair tousled and breasts gently rising and falling Enshrouded in a silken cocoon My hunger rises, I have not eaten today But my breakfast is always better eaten out Slowly licking your toes Their taste divine, salinity with a hint of lavender Tongue rolling between them and taking them slowly into my mouth Like a...

Recommended Read You and I alone

You and I alone After months of deliberate solitude Wanton waves of desire below a calm surface of politeness Red Wine is shared and sipped gracefully as I grow under my outer layer The silence of a thousand words resonates between us You unwrap your skin for my viewing pleasure Taking control of the dance and the tempo I follow suit, struggling over sought...
