Saved the auto industry huh? OR did he give millions of tax payer dollars to millionaires so they wouldn't have to invest their own money? Basicly, it was a low interest loan with company stock as securtity ... Pretty much the same as a bank would do
With the millions of Americans that the ACA is supposed to help, will they get similar plans? Ones with deductibles, high deductibles? My current plan doesn't have deductibles, as such. What you don't find out until you get the bill is that they have a maximum payment for a given procedure: $250 for an ER visit, $25 for an eye exam, $2500 for an MRI, etc. and a daily maximum of $5000. You pay the difference; and if you have a $40,000 bill for surgery ... Well that's tough, they only pay up to $5,000 per day
Debt is a major problem for many many Americans. Nedical expenses account for 65% of the banruptsies in this country
Blue Cross just canceled many people here in CA and told them they will have to pay nearly double using the Obamacare per month. I realize BC-BS rates vary from state to state, but here it's a little over a thousand a month - three times what I'm paying now (through the company), and almost twelve times what I was quoted for for the ACA Bronze PlanCould it be that maybe you would do well to spend a little less time listening to the Right-Wing Propaganda Machine, and a little more time checking the actual facts?
Gotta call bullshit on this. ERs are required to accept people despite their inability to pay. Regulations have been known to be ignored in favor of profits, the Deep Water Horizon oil rig comes to mind, otherwise you wouldn't need an army of inspectors to ensure that things are done to specAlso, companies are required to pay worker overtime for time over 40 hours, but Allis Chalmers (and I've heard Gates Rubber) has refused to do so since 2007
I am curious to hear people speak in favor of the Obama/Clinton Heath Care Program. (It is the same program only with more mistakes that both the Democrats and Republicans said was terrible when Hillary Clinton tried to push it the first time. The only difference being that the Congress was allowed at that time to view the bill and debate it.) No, "Hillarycare" was a single payer system similar to what Medicare uses. ACA is very similar "Romneycare" and to the Republican alternative to the Clinton plan, known in the 90's as "Dolecare" I know several people who have had their spouses and dependents dropped from their insurance, In other words, business as usual for the insurance companies .... Under the current insurance model, eliminating as many potential users of said insurance is the quickest way to minimize costs and maximize profits. It is the inevitable outcome of a system which commoditizes life.I've had a hernia since 1991 for the simple fact that it was a repetitive injury. Since I couldn't give them a specific time and place where the injury occurred, the insurance company denied coverage on the grounds that I couldn't prove it wasn't a pre-existing condition. I got a letter from my doctor stating his opinion that it was a work related repetitive injury, but that got no response.A co-worker of mine (same insurance company) had breast cancer; and when the insurance ran out, she was not only over $200k in debt, the was told that she was uninsurable until she had been cancer-free for 10 year. She went on her husband's insurance plan, and all was well and good for a couple years until she had a heart attack and needed an emergency triple by-pass. After a month in the hospital, they got a letter telling them that the company had reviewed her case, and canceled her policy effective the day before she had the heart attack. And there was another one who was forced to stop his kidney dialysis treatments after he reached his lifetime benefit limit, and the money from the sale of his house ran out ... He died a few weeks later This is how I understand it. It is like walking into a car dealership and the sales man puts a blank piece of paper in front of you and you put a blank signed check in front of him. About how it works now: A few years ago, I walking into the ER and handed them my company insurance card. An hour later, I walked out expecting a $10 co-pay. Imagine my surprise a month later when the bills started coming in, and I discovered that that insurance only paid $250 of an $1100 ER bill; plus another $3200 that I paid out of pocket for lab work and an MRI over the next couple weeks The Leader lied to people saying they could have their old doctors, etc. That it will cost less, but if you have read the figures and the fines you know that the people will be paying more for insurance and since it will be like Communist health plans, getting less service. I have read the figures, and it offers me far better coverage than what I am getting from the company at less than a fourth of the price The plan will be subsidized by the government, meaning your taxes which will in the near future have to be raised to pay My insurance premiums are more than what I pay in taxes, so they could double my taxes and install a single payer system, and I would still be money ahead the bill states that this bill or law “will not apply to the members of Congress” They also are exempt from Social Security system and have a low cost, well funded private health plan that covers their retirement for life. They already have a publicly funded single payer system in place that covers them for life. Why would they want to change that? Why weren’t these items and others as well as the bill as a whole gone over in public before both Houses the way the Constitution requires? Could it be because they knew how corrupt, stupid and unconstitutional it is? Obamacare price on the state exchanges will average $328. I'm paying $367/month now (for one person), and getting crappy coverage. Under ACA, I would pay about $83/month If Congress really cared about fixing the health care over charges and service and cost they would fix Medicare and pass regulations so companies don’t charge a fortune for medicine and make hospitals charge fair prices, etc. Make preventive medicine and checkups essential. Why didn’t Congress and the President work on this? You might check to see who pushed for the clause, as in the case of Medicare Part D, where the law specifically prohibits the rejection of the low bidder, even when it means Medicare is forced to pay $12k for a $900 scooter chairHint: His name was Bush
In the words of the Wall Street Journal, "Kamikaze missions rarely turn out well, least of all for the pilots."
What are your preferences and thoughts when it comes to the length of the lead-in to a story? If the primary sexual encounter of the story is the "climax" (punned!), how much is too much when it comes to the non-sexual setting of the stage? It depends on the story. Are they a married couple; did they meet an hour ago; or are they a couple co-workers who have been flirting for years when things ... just ... happen?
Radar Love -- Golden Earring
We’ve talked about it for months, and now it is finally going to happen. Mike is out of town on business and you, Bob, and I are going to get together for a little fun. We start out with you sitting on the couch between us. The lights are down low, soft music plays in the background, and a nice fire burns across the way. We sit there talking and drinking wine, both of us have an arm...
