Topic Hot and sweaty, or cold and covered. Which?
16 Feb 2013 13:14
Cold and covered for sure! The older I get the more I hate the heat. If it is a bit cold, you can always put on another sweater. And there's nothing like taking a walk in Jaunuary or February and taking in a long deep breath of cold winter air.

I first saw my teachers cry. It was Nov. 22, 1963 and they told us the President was killed in Dallas. The teachers asked us all to say a prayer for his family and the country. I had never been asked to pray by a teacher before because I went to a public school. I was 9 years old.
Topic Ever fallen in love with someone you can't have?
14 Feb 2013 21:06
Yes , many years ago. We met in 5th grade and she always could always make me laugh. There was something about her sense of humor that was just spot on with mine. We weren't close friends, just classmates. In junior high (now they call it Middle school) we didn't have any classes in common, so we kind of lost touch. I had a girlfriend when we got to high school. I would see her in the hallways and we would chat and, of course, I would laugh like crazy. She hung out with the really popular kids, which I wasn't part of in any way, shape or form. How could I ask her out? I thought she'd never go out with someone as plain as me.
She went away to college, I went to a diffenent one and I got married. After college I would run into her in town now and then, and sure enough she would make me laugh. Sadly, within 10 years of graduating high school she was gone. She died from complications from anorexia. I have often wondered what life might have been like if I wasn't so shy about asking her out for a date back in high school. I still think of her and how much I enjoyed school back in 5th grade because of her. I wonder how painful her life must have been battling anorexia. She deserved better.

Dating for seven weeks and he's going out with the "guys" on Valentines Day? WTF???? Ditch this looser. I'm old enough to believe that Valentines Day is for the ladies. So, it's all about what you want to do on that day.
If he wasn't such an idiot, he would know to bring you some flowers and take you out for a romantic dinner at the restaurant of YOUR choice. You deserve it.

Someone comfortable in their own skin that isn't afraid to smile. And she has to be old enough to remember the Ed Sullivan show on Feb. 9, 1964, when the Beatles were introduced to America.

Pretty much what MrLosAngeles said. But, I will add that you need to remember that there is someone else out there for you. You'll find her and probably somewhere you never thought to look. Good Luck to you.

Sorry to hear that you don't have crickets, Marilyn37. Many years ago we had visitors from the west coast of the USA that came to visit and they were absolutely fascinated with our "lightning bugs". I guess we all take our surroundings for granted.
Topic Febfast - Giving up Alcohol for a Month, means...
11 Feb 2013 20:50
I'm in my 50's and after all these years I have found that the less I drink, the more I enjoy it. I don't mean I enjoy the fact that I am drinking less. I mean I find that I enjoy each drink so much more. I do not drink every day, and when I do drink, I only have 1 drink. To sit down and enjoy a glass of scotch on the rocks, or a manhattan, or a bloody mary is a welcomed treat. I'm not interested in getting drunk, I'm interested in savoring the taste of the alcohol.
So, I have decided to spend the next few months trying a variety of whiskeys (or whiskys) and appreciating them for their differences. What a wonderful journey it will be!

Sorry, but horsemeat will always be dog food to me. If you are looking for a lower fat meat than beef, give buffalo a try. I love the stuff.
Topic Why do guys act this way?
09 Feb 2013 20:49
Most of those kinds of guys are jerks and basically they are fishing. They want to see what will result from their line of B.S. My daughter told me that she wouldn't date a guy that was her age, they were only interested in getting her into bed. She ended up marrying a wonderful guy that I am proud to say is my son-in-law, he's 14 years older than she is and they have 2 cute little kids.
So be patient and be careful.
Topic Smokin' hot body or beautiful face - who would you want to fuck?
09 Feb 2013 20:42
A no brainer. I would take the beautiful face every time, provided it had a equally beautiful smile.
I would admit we men are a very visual lot. But, as to what is considered attractive is a personal attribute. Some guys are breast men, some are leg guys, or ass lovers.

Yes, definitely the people. The forums are fun, intelligent for the most part, and interesting. A fun forum post started with one word...good. People began posting a recognized phrase that started with the word good. I think it is over at the Lounge or the Pub. Take a look.
Also, I still find it amazing that people from all over the world can post in the forums and chat in real time. But then again I'm old enough to remember when phones were all hard wired and had rotary dials.

Topic Bacon how do you like it?

Wrapped around the edges of a rib-eye steak. A baked potato with bacon bits on top with sour cream. Green beans with sliced almonds and bacon bits. Beverage = bloody mary with a crispy bacon strip and beef jerky stick. That would be a great meal.
