Firstly - easy on the decorative typefaces they are tacky and unreadable. Silly script, mixed with comic sans and countless others are an assault.

"KISS- keep it simple stupid" dont use any more then 2 typefaces, if you need to.

Secondly - colour of type, very important some also are unreadable.
Thirdly - DON't STRETCH IMAGES BADLY it looks terrible.

I could go on about alignment and shit , but I know it's me being picky, and not everyone gets poked in the eye by these things like I do.

There are sites to make banners, some good, some, not so much . Photoshop is ideal as you have full control.

I think the difference really is in AV's and personal profile/album pics.
An avatar is the graphical representation of the user or the user's alter ego or character, thats perfectly acceptable, so is having pics you like in albums.
My AV is not me, but I have shared my actual pics with my friends. The difference here I think is the profiles where some have a fake pic in thier albums and what not, stating " me being sexy", "me palying" and so on, and the pics are someone elses. That is a bit fraudulent, if it was just fantasy you would say, " I wish this was me being sexy." hahaha.

Note: i have already did the " prove i'm 18 thing" with 02, so I have not had to do it again , it was just happening with the wifi to 3G switch and the turning it off and on sorted it. If you have not done that with 02 yet it may not work , but you can do it over the phone with 02 for free with a valid credit/debit card, I think that's how I did it anyway.

O2 restricts user access to sites that may be of an adult nature on their network - you need to prove that you're over 18. You can do this at any O2 shop but you have to be prepared to do it again once every year or so. There's probably a way of doing it online.

Actually sometimes if I switch from wifi to 3G (i'm with 02) that happens, and it takes me to the 02 over 18 page instead of lush, but if i turn my phone off and back on, it works again.
