Good Evening Lushketeers...well, this is indeed sad news that the Good Chef is gone...puts a bit of damper on this St. Valentine's holiday thingy...
I guess we'll just have to do what we always do...drink...pass me over a tall mug of Beaver Breath Reverend...I feel a case of sobriety coming on, and I don't want to let it go too far...
Btw Rump...I was looking at the last message Chef sent me...ahem...yeah, she told me to tell you to leave her tab open, and to put my drinks on it...and she'll come back and pay it off in about a year...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how the message read...I'll have to go check my inbox again...but, in the meantime...slide that mug of BB down here...thanks...
Cheers,
Alan.
Topic Interesting post about what's selling in the Romance eBook world...
Posted 12 Feb 2013 21:39
That's interesting reading. M/M Romance at #1? Wow!
M/M does very well...always, it would seem...a number of female authors write M/M using male pen names, the opposite of the usual romance writers...there's an author on Lush who does that, can't recall her name, but I think you know who I mean...
Those price ranges they publish there, reflect our own quite accurately. The $2.99-$4.99 price range seems to sell the best for our publications.
Yeah, I think we're on point in that price range, certainly for the short story collections...from what I've gathered, we could go a bit higher for the novels, such as Ashleigh's...and novels are the key to sales success, regardless of genre...
"50 Shades Of Twilight" or "50 Shades Of Harry Potter" or whatever is on the top of the sales charts at the moment shows great hope for the future of erotica writers...but note...none of them are short story collections...just sayin'

Good Afternoon my Lushkin friends...hmmm, did I just hear the good Chef say that the first round is on her?
Let me think, what do I want for my first round...hey Rump, pass me over a quart of Beaver Breath and a bottle of bourbon chaser...
Thanks Chef, I really appreciate it...
Btw, it looks like there is a job opening up in Vatican City, and there's already a grassroots campaign to fill the vacancy...I say we elect the good Reverend Rump, anyone else here?
We can move Rumplebations into the Vatican...that ought to be good for business...besides, we'll never run out of communion wine...

i like books and they look pretty on my bookshelf - i just like looking at them when i'm hanging out in our bedroom relaxing. :)
You know, I heard a rumor that if you open a book up, there's stuff to read inside...don't know for sure, but that's the word going around...
Yeah, I like paper books too...you can do stuff with paper books you can't with eBooks...like wedge it under a table leg to keep a table from wobbling...you know, that sort of thing...

We do not accept previously published work."...yes my friends, you read that right...so, send them your rejects, your worst crap...good writers need not apply...

Topic Multiple Links at the End of a Story
Posted 05 Feb 2013 11:30
I think he means he wants to write multiple endings (or continuing sections, however many there may be) himself, and link to the various options at the end of the first part.
I understood that...the thing is, he couldn't really link to multiple different endings, since unlike separate chapters posted here, they couldn't necessarily stand alone as stories...the multiple ending choices would pretty much have to be on the same page somehow...
But, I think he'll accept Jeff's suggestion of designing his own site...he'll invite us all over in a couple of days I'm sure...

Topic Please do not contact us about "low" votes on your stories
Posted 05 Feb 2013 00:31
We're talking about two different things here. The action taken, per the OP of this thread, is to counteract and (hopefully) deter vote-bombing (i.e. scoring stories lowly, either as a retaliation or just for the mean-spirited sake of doing so).
Didn't you do a video explaining that a while back? Maybe it's time to bring that out again...I thought it was pretty cool myself...
Topic Multiple Links at the End of a Story
Posted 05 Feb 2013 00:22
I don't know of any site like this set up to cater for multiple outcomes / endings. The technique is rarely used these days, outside of video games!
I know of one writing site which has a category set up where people have the option of writing their own endings to a story, but that could could be a disaster waiting to happen...
I do recall we had the option to add "Embellishments" to a story, but I believe it was removed because the embellishments circumvented the moderating system...and it was rarely used anyway from what I could see...
Btw Nic...I believe what he meant to say was "Lush tech" not "Low tech"...must have been a slip of the fingers...damn auto-correct...

The last time I checked into it, I found that good writing, just like taking out the garbage contrary to popular belief, is NOT a sex-linked characteristic.
Lol...I don't think I ever heard writing compared to taking out the garbage before...but, I guess there are some similarities now that I think about it...

Good Morning there People of Lush...what are the chances of getting a cup of decent coffee this time of the morning? Maybe I shouldn't ask...just pass me over a sizable cup of whatever Busty concocted...and toss in a few ounces of Beaver Breath...just to kill any germs on the cup...you know, for medicinal purposes...
Btw, did I hear correctly that Mr. Scooter mentioned something about paying off my tab? I always knew you were indeed a gentleman Mr. Scoot...in spite of what the rest of the world may say...
What happen...you hit the Powerball or something? That might give you enough to pay off most of my tab...I do appreciate this btw...in fact, tell the Reverend to get you a drink...
And, um...put it on my tab...
Cheers,
Alan.
