Okay, well finally finished another story. My Philippine based saga has been submitted. At over 11,000 words it is (I think) my longest single episode to date but I didn't want to leave my readers hanging on a cliff without any sex so I had to keep typing. Probably not everyone's cup of tea so who knows what response it will get? A few more stories in the works including my first "historical" storyline so I will keep scribbling.

Just back from a week in Beijing. Nice weather and clear skies, but man is it getting expensive now. Some great food especially at "Made in China" which is now one of my favorite restaurants. Will try to get back to my stories as soon as I can.

Thanks for putting both parts 1 & 2 of "My/His Best Friend's Daughter" over 30K views. I truly appreciate all my kind readers.
"It's a strange moment, the moment of creating characters who up to that moment have had no existence. What follows is fitful, uncertain, even hallucinatory, although sometimes it can be an unstoppable avalanche. The author's position is an odd one. In a sense he is not welcomed by the characters. The characters resist him, they are not easy to live with, they are impossible to define. You certainly can't dictate to them. To a certain extent you play a never-ending game with them, cat and mouse, blind man's buff, hide and seek. But finally you find that you have people of flesh and blood on your hands, people with will and an individual sensibility of their own, made out of component parts you are unable to change, manipulate or distort."

Just passed 40K views on one of my stories for the first time. I feel like an "American Idol" video flashback is required...Ryan Seacrest: "Let's look back to when we first met John (Pans to a shot of a dejected John in an office)....He was struggling with self esteem issues...he hadn't written in years....and then....HE FOUND LUSH!! (Cut to: a shot of a smiling John typing madly on his MacAir with triumphal music in the background....Cut Again: Randy, J-Lo and what's his name giving John a standing ovation....music fades...) Ryan Seacrest: "And now, for those contestants whose stories have reached forty-thousand views....."

Well thanks to all my kind readers!! My third story has gone over 30,000 views. You need to always feel humble since there are many GREAT stories on here that don't get very many views. Not being a "super bowl" kind of person I am very relaxed and have no hangover after a great weekend.

Sorry, been away taking in the sun. Gotta express my thanks to the Admin for making "Chamonix Chalet Fun" a story pick. Saved it from oblivion.

Getting ready to pull down the tree and put away the decorations. Been pretty cold in Hong Kong so a trip to Bangkok is in order to warm the bones. My new story "Chamonix Chalet Fun" attracted a few readers, but I guess Christmas presents and the new iPad were more engaging. Wishing a great 2012 to all Lushees.

Oh my gosh, so many little black dresses paired with sexy leather boots traipsing around Hong Kong for the holidays. I do believe the hemlines are getting shorter every year or perhaps I'm just getting older? Gotta love how young women get into the spirit!!

Very sad to hear George Whitman died, but glad his daughter Sylvia will continue to honor his spirit at Shakespeare & Company. A truly great bookstore and I was fortunate enough to be there when David Eggers did his reading in 2009. If Joyce and Hemingway have ghosts anywhere then they are more likely to be found in the stacks here than anywhere else.

I should not have re-read the damn book....I always get so upset when Naoko dies.
