I’m a grandfather with a grand child, a grand daughter, a grandson.
Her, him, them, a single person.
A simple person,quiet, yet dangerous.
She, he they need to be hidden.
She, he, they need to be removed.
She, him, they need to be eradicated.
Her, him, themmust not exist.
Her, him, them must be forgotten.
She, he, they exist still.
She, he, they live, breathe, love amongst us.
Many of the families cower in fear of their eradication.
She, he, they are dangerous. Somehow.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.
I get it, I think. Trans rights? And how having kids and grandkids makes you realize what is important, and what is meaningless (e.g. pronouns)? Nice.

it makes you think when you read about the anti trans/gay/ lesbian/ movement and you know you have one who is at risk in the real world.
I live in an open-minded city, but even here, pride banners are torn down.

I like this - I must admit, I failed to check this out in August of last year. I've since read and re-read this poem, half a dozen times since the 1st of this year. It resonates with me. I'm reminded of the multi-cultural blend of my family.
I have met and made friends with people, my age or older/younger - over the last decade who all are targets (because of the blends of their families or because of their own lifestyle decisions) of the MAGA movement and the degenerates who dominate that Nationalistic flavor of the mid 2000s Tea Party.
I live in the rural boondocks of Missouri - a purpling state, which turned over in the 1998 election cycle from a predominantly Blue state for many decades to a seething red state of MAGA influence. In many ways, Missouri has mirrored the state of Texas, as both states have devolved & slid into their current political iterations.
Both states are in need of a revolt and sanitizing cleansing at the ballot boxes this November.
I want my family and friends and their families to not live with troubling concerns about their physical safety and/or mental/emotional sanity for the rest of their lives. I wish to extinguish the mental targets they all feel upon themselves. Daily.
