It depends on many things... the workload (queue size) of the Mods (who are all volunteers), gold/platinum members get priority, for just two examples.

I just published a new story, https://www.lushstories.com/stories/reluctance/naked-and-afraid A wife is home alone when two criminals break in to rob her. She's afraid and that's when it gets interesting A super story full of great sex, with a BDSM slant, that will hold your interest.

An oldie but goodie, https://www.lushstories.com/stories/monster-sex/the-emerald-lagoon An Editor's Pick from a comp a couple of years ago.

If you enjoy either, please comment. My ego needs a boost, ha! Thanks.

also, with the deadline for the current competition nearing, we're pushing all entries to the top of the list so they can be included. smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Krissy,
Welcome to Lush.

Given what Kee and Sprite have said, as only a Bronze member I have seen approval times varying from 5 days down to 2 hours (yes, this one shocked me too).
You will get used to the end of competition slow down. I submitted one on the 4th and immediately slumped when the brain tapped to come out again smile

Hope you enjoy your time here.

Of course, the best solution to that is to enter the comp.

Quite a few verifiers are running their rule over our latest competition shortlist now, so apologies for a longer than usual publishing time. It's normally under 2 days.

All verifiers are volunteers and we're in the Top 3 most visited story sites on the web, so things can sometimes not go as quickly as we'd like.

Personally I don't think any apologies are due.

The bold part is worth repeating regularly.
Having had a verifier give me some advice while still writing a chapter was wonderful.
Having a back and forth about a story on Saturday night was priceless.
I think the worst I've had from the verifiers is a good service.

If anyone wants to have their stories verified faster they can always upgrade their accounts to gold membership which bumps their stories up the queue. Just remember that all moderators/verfiers are only volunteers. The length of with it takes your story to verified all depends how many mods there is available at the time. I’ve had stories verified within matter of minutes or some have taken a couple of days. It doesn’t bother me how long they take to appear as each mod does a terrific Job in keeping this site updated with all these excellent stories and poems that each writer has painstakingly crafted

For the past few months I’ve been using Instagram and been using the site to post my photography . Here’s the link to my profile

Just wanted to share my experience: I’ve written on [Admin removed] in the past so I have gone through this process before elsewhere. Posted a first story here and it’s been under review for over a week - i believe we’re closing in on two.

I liked the UI and speed of the website, but this kinds of kills the appeal of the platform - as a writer at least.

I get it - people are volunteers, etc… and there must be lots of stories in the queue. Features showing where your story stands in the queue would be helpful. Without any information, it’s hard to tell how close the story is from getting published.

I’m also guessing that 7K+ words story are at the back of the list because they take longer to review.

Hi there,

Yes, moderators are volunteers, and currently the queue is sitting at over 130. Gold/Platinum members do get feedback and are published quicker because it is one of the perks of the membership. During competitions, we also prioritise the competition entries to give them a chance.

I submitted a story 10 days ago and haven’t heard anything. Is that pretty typical? If there’s a need for moderators to get stories looked at more quickly could someone let us know how to volunteer? I haven’t been able to find anything on the site about how moderators are selected.

Ten or more days, while a test of patience, is normal for the time being. The moderators are, literally, working around the clock.
