Was gonna start a new thread entitled, "Tell me Something Good," a la Rufus/Chaka, but here it goes.
Went to quasi entertainment park this weekend with my daughter. At one point point, she wanted an ice cream. At the counter we meet up with a family drenched in sweat, and looking to buy some bottled water. The credit card machine was offline, and they were only excepting cash. The family was short a couple of bucks.
I reached down, took a few and gave it to the dad. He was somewhat hesitant, but I told him, "hey, it's hot, and the kids need water." He acquiesced, and we went on our way.
Two hours later during lunch time, I went with little miss thing to the cafeteria. We gathered our morsels, and I waited for my sandwich. As I approached the cash register girl, there was Samir, paying for our lunch.
Humanity, and kindness. A day I'll never forget.
