My boyfriend of 5 years and I have decided to start taking birth control pills, but I cannot get them with a prescription due to my family's religion, so it has to be secretive and preferably cheap. Any suggestions or similar predicaments?
EDITS: SO NOT my religious beliefs, my family's, it's kinda hard going to my doctor (which is a close family friend, what a fucking coincidence) without being disowned by my entire family. I'm totally ok with birth control, but I cannot ask my current doctor because of the close relationship and the nearest Planned Parenthood is extremely far away. Ah, I think I can figure this out anyways, thanks for the helpful comments, and the non-helpful ones... o well.

Planned Parenthood would be a great resource for this.

I would say, go see your doctor, or sign up with a new doctor and explain your situation. From experience I know that doctors usually have lots of BC samples in thier office, my old doctor gave them to me free whenever I went to see her. It is their duty to do thier best for your health and it may be worth trying. Also they have to remain confidential so your religion should not be an issue. good luck!

You obviously don't have the strength of your religious convictions as you are asking the question in the first place. You can't have it both ways and I'm told the deity is all seeing so taking them in secret would cut no ice with the god so go ahead and take the pills with my blessing. As for where do you get them - give me a break.

Look at the possibility of fitting a coil. Once in there is no requirement for further medication. Consider using a spermicidal cream as well with it, although it shouldn't be necessary. If you could, would you? Satan

I have a coil and it's really trouble free and effective for 5 years, I don't have to even think about it, the only issue with that here for the OP is where she is located. The coil is free in the UK but depending on where she is it could cost quite a lot of money.

If it were me, I would NEVER buy BC from an online store. Jack_42 wrote:You obviously don't have the strength of your religious convictions as you are asking the question in the first place. If you are mature enough to be in a sexual relationship you are mature enough to take responsibility for your own health care regardless of your family's religion. Go to a doctor and get a prescription.

Not getting it will lead to pregnancy. Pregnancy leads to other complications including A LOT less sex when there is a child! Seems like a good enough reason to start hunting either a free or low cost clinic, a new doctor or google the closest planned parenthood. It might be closer then you think, I know that was the case for me!
Who would have guessed that my little tale, the very First one I ever submitted to Lush would be read by so many? It shocks me a little to realize that it has now served over 20,000! Charge NurseThank you so very much to those who have read it!

I'm not quite sure, so let me ask a stupid question? Just why specifically does your religion stop you from getting a prescription? I'm confused. Sorry.
