What are your thoughts on writing a story like a movie script? Too confusing for the audience? An interesting twist on the normal?

I ask because writing a script is a dream of mine and I have little experience. Putting a few stories out there will allow for practice in the style.

My understanding is that writing in this form is not accepted as a story on this site. If I am wrong, someone will correct me.

I don't know the exact style of script writing, but a friend of mine wrote this, some bits are kind of like reading a script. There was no issue with it being submitted and published, but like I say it's not strictly a script.

I think that the narrative between the script style bits made that one acceptable.

This is a story site. Primarily, submissions should be a story.

There is nothing wrong with using a script format for computer conversations or texting. This technique is commonly used within a story, not in place of a story.

You would have to be an excellent author to write in such a way as to make the whole piece read as a story, regardless of script style. I would not advocate the use of it on Lush, personally. Pure dialogue must be very well done, indeed. If there are directions within the script, unless written in story format, that would annoy me, personally.

The example offered by Crazydiamond, as Principessa states, is not a script. The story envelops that style within it. The author was more than able to incorporate the tool (snigger) in such a way as to enhance his story, not shy away from using description and narrative.

A pure script is a script, not a story, in my opinion.

Ut incepit fidelis, sic permanet.
