We're all introverted in some fashion. And, with the advent of this online community/network, introverts and extroverts get to let loose the hand usually held close. The betas may be quiet, but we sure do fill in lots of gaps.

My favorite introvert.

We cannot avoid conflict, conflict with society, other individuals and with oneself. Conflicts may be the sources of defeat, lost life and a limitation of our potentiality but they may also lead to greater depth of living and the birth of more far-reaching unities, which flourish in the tensions that engender them. ~ Karl Jaspers

Happy MLK. Thanks Martin. Glad Malcolm was about to come around. Unfortunately, neither of you were given a chance for the better tomorrow we now indulge in.

Thank you for the wonderful quotes and setting up this thread.

This is something we all struggle with to various degrees at times and the best thing
we can do is talk about it... Hugs

You're welcome Wendy.

So what do we reinforce? A comfortably complacent paradigm of existence, or an ever changing recognition that we are all just human. Simple, complex, confused, staunch, and ever evolving, and that we should never get the hammer, but a reinforcement of our humanity.

I recommend Depression Comix: http://depressioncomix.tumblr.com/ The author struggled with depression, and they're really good just as a way to explain how it feels to someone who's never had it. I absolutely love the author, too: he used to do Sexy Losers.

One thing I think is that everyone needs a diversion. Something you enjoy. We don't have to stew in our minds...Also living in the moment, not the past, not the future but where you are now. We create stress by thinking we should be different people or reliving mistakes. Sounds new agey but stressing about the past is fruitless. Nothing can be done about it.

Bingo! Keeping that in mind upon waking every day is key.

One can walk every day and not clear their mind. There are many that walk, run, cycle, marathon on a regular basis and are still on meds, just plain stupid, or suffer from something other than what a walk can cure. It's not THE key, but it does help.
