I had a question. I've written one Choose-Your-Own type story, and I'm writing another one, and while having readers scroll to the right section works well enough, I was wondering whether there's any way to link each of the branches to the end of the current page. For example,
Billy saw Tiffany skinny dipping.
If Billy should take her clothes, click here.
If Billy should join her, click here.
Like I said, it's also possible to just write all the sections in order and rely on scrolling to get to the right section, but since stories can have links at the end to other stories, I was wondering whether it's at all possible to have multiple links, or allow Lush stories to link to other stories of mine at Lush.
Thanks!

I see what you're getting at, but we're not set up for that I'm afraid.

You could do it if each part were long enough.
As we have it set up, stories have to be over 3000 characters long, or the system rejects them. If each part were over that length, it would work. You'd submit each new section as a new "story".
Our site is set up for stories, or lengthy chapters. I don't know of any site like this set up to cater for multiple outcomes / endings. The technique is rarely used these days, outside of video games!
"Low tech"? lol. You've obviously not been on this site very long...

I know of one writing site which has a category set up where people have the option of writing their own endings to a story, but that could could be a disaster waiting to happen... I do recall we had the option to add "Embellishments" to a story, but I believe it was removed because the embellishments circumvented the moderating system...and it was rarely used anyway from what I could see... Btw Nic...I believe what he meant to say was "Lush tech" not "Low tech"...must have been a slip of the fingers...damn auto-correct...

I think he means he wants to write multiple endings (or continuing sections, however many there may be) himself, and link to the various options at the end of the first part.
The reader could then choose the outcome.
I haven't seen print books like that for decades.

I haven't seen print books like that for decades. Bingo! And when I said low tech, I meant relatively so. Obviously, putting words on my magic box and having people from all over the world being able to read it through little work of my own is still incredibly advanced. I just meant that the low tech solution to my quandary is putting it all in a row and having readers scroll or use CTRL F to find the right sections.

I understood that...the thing is, he couldn't really link to multiple different endings, since unlike separate chapters posted here, they couldn't necessarily stand alone as stories...the multiple ending choices would pretty much have to be on the same page somehow... But, I think he'll accept Jeff's suggestion of designing his own site...he'll invite us all over in a couple of days I'm sure...

If you had a clear delineator of each of the various outcomes, the CTRL+F solution is probably your best bet.
It's an unusual request!

If your "options" are wordy enough to pass the minimum character count, you can try to set them up to be in the "You may also like" links by putting them all in the same category and using unique tags throughout the series. Also be sure to use variations of the same title for each part of the story. It's not guaranteed, but it might work. What's the point? Every reader is going to "choose their own adventure" that leads to sex' and cummin' anyway. All roads lead to fuckin'. Might as well make the thing linear.
