For a long time, my wife has worn a white t-shirt and full size cotton knickers to bed.
She lets me choose what colour of knickers she wears and that's usually navy blue, pink or white.

Depends, I always wear some kind of nightie to bed. I'm in Florida and the nights here are usually rather warm so a nice shortie nightie with matching panties. I the winter months maybe a semi-sheer long nightie.
