The list of the Top Ten women in porn made me smile (for reasons I won't go into). This was an interesting read with some surprising stats. I'm not surprised porn stars careers are getting shorter over the past few decades. I don't think it's just about burnout. With porn becoming more and more mainstream, top performers are able to move into the business side of things or have other career opportunities and options becoming available sooner (eg. Sasha Grey) that takes them out of the typical performing/film side of the biz.

Hungary porn star ratio is about 1 to 14,000 persons.. WOW
Brazil 1 to over 2 million
US about 1 for every 100,000
Italy, Germany about 1 for every 500,000 (Italy more)
Who knows why that breakdown, it doesn't show a pattern regarding the financial stability of a country. Hmm it's got to do with the horniness ? Noooo

Doesn't Hungary have a reputation for gay porn? I wonder what the gender ratio is of all those Hungarian porn actors and actresses. Or am I misremembering facts I read off of the Hetalia website?

Some very interesting stats. I was surprised how few vids the avg woman does today. I expected it to be far less than in the 80's but not that much less. I know today that some of the bigger name girls have contracts with the larger companies like Vivid and Wicked and make much more money than the ones who get paid by the scene. I read that one year Jenna Jameson made over $100,000 for doing 8 vids. Many of the women use porn as a means to build up a folowing for the dancing careers which is their real money maker.
Seems the only thing that hasnt changed is that the guys make far less than the women.
BTW, Im not crazy about the name more of the women choose as their stage name, LOL!!

Interesting survey. I was also surprised at the short career length for the women in porn. I wonder if the porn audience is always looking for a new face and prefers newer younger stars. That could push the "veterans" out of the biz.
BTW Niddi703, is nikki your "lush" name or your real name? I think it is chosen as a stage name because it has a sexy and fun vibe to it. I'm just sayin'.
