We call it soft drink, thats the broad description for us. I'll only use the name or flavour if I have that to offer. Im not going to ask someone if they want a coke and give them sunkist.

I do the exact same thing. General terms it's soft drink. Some people call it a fizzy drink, but I don't hear that too often.

I was born and raised in the South, and it's Coke. It doesn't matter what the actual drink it is- it's all Coke. Haha. :)

Exactly the same thing in the Twin Cities too. I'll have a pop please, diet coke if you have it! You only have Pepsi? Ice water please.

My friend from New York got upset when she asked for a soda and I gave her a glass of club soda. I was upset when a Brit gave me a 7-UP when I ordered a lemonade. Why can't we get on the same page as MinneSoda?

Pepsi is the worst!

When I was waiting tables, I could always tell who wasn't from the South, because I would ask what kind of Coke they wanted and they would just stare at me like I'm crazy! kekekegay

Being a southern transplant from the north - it's a damned Soda-pop. LOL I use to say 'Coke' but that drove my W coast hubbs insane so I reverted back to that.

Well, lets see....I can start off kindly and say it's simply junk. But pop, soda, coke, Mt. Dew (whatever you want to call your poison) is....poison...in a pretty package...with bubbles to tickle your nose...and garnished with a cherry sometimes. Call it what you will...it's poison...to me.

Do people still drink this stuff?

in Georgia we call them all coke, no matter what you are ordering. You say "I'll have a coke" and the server asks you what kind.
