It's the first day of March and the last day of the workweek..a coincidence, I think not. Well, okay, it is true that thinking isn't one of my stronger points, but you get the idea, right?

(rinses out mug with Busty coffee, then fills it with BBB, sips and smiles) You know, I may have finally found the perfect ratio of Busty's brew to Beaver Breath Brandy.

Slip, I used to have a small beanbag figure on my desk at work of a guy with thick glasses and wild eyes, wearing a t-shirt that resembled an eye chart. A careful exam of which yielded the message: Too much sex makes your eyes go wierd.

Good morning, Lushites! I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring to get the writing juices flowing again. I took some notes on the kind of story I want to write and hopefully publish. It's 5 pm somewhere. Margarita time!

If you're waiting for spring to start writing, you may be waiting a while. Oh well, vacation coming up soon (to Vegas) followed by business trip to New Orleans. Of course, as soon as I get someplace warm, we'll pretty get a warm spell here or something.

Sigh. Scotch please. Neat.

Yeah, yeah, we know, Scooter. You always want the bar around you. ;) (slides a pitcher of Lone Star towards, Scooter)

Seeker, how did you ever land a job that has business trips to Vegas and NO during the spring? Clean living, I suppose.

Wondered why I was in a mully-grubby mood. Then I learned that on this day back in 1999, Dusty Springfield died from breast cancer. I'm still feeling mully-grubby, but at least now I have an excuse.

Anyone else for joining in drinking my blues away?

Sorry Rump, I work Sundays.

It's freezing here this weekend and somehow that's doubly cruel since it was 80s all last week!

Morning Scooter and all who suffer from the winter blahs. If nothing else cures your problem, try a big mug of Busty's coffee. It's no cure but will convince you there are worse things than the winter-time blues.

Granted, this is just another miserable Monday, but have faith for tomorrow will be 'Titty Tuesday and then, before you know it, it'll be time for, The Masters. :)

Good Morning my Lush type friends...what are the chances of getting a decent cup of coffee in this here establishment? Hmmm...just pour me a large mug and cut it with enough Beaver Breath to make it drinkable...about a quart should do the trick...

Yeah, somebody mention something about it being cold outside? Happens every year around these parts...sounds like another excuse to stay inside and drink, if you ask me...

So, what happened Reverend...you turn down the job as Pope? What's the matter, you didn't like the company car?

The Popemobile ain't so bad...just needs new rims, and maybe a few other custom accessories to dress it up...I think Scooter has a set of curb feelers he can sell you, if that helps...

Anyway, pass the coffee...

Cheers,
Alan.

(slides mug filled with Rumplation's very own, 'Gorilla Killer' -- 151 rum on the rocks with a twist of line -- over to Slippery) Here you go, you man-boobs maniac, you. This should settle your nerves.

Alan, your chances of getting a good cup of coffee around here are about the same as your chances of scoring with (fill in with name of current favorite lust hottie). Tell you what, try rinsing out your cup with coffee, toss away any not sticking to the side, and then fill 'er to the rim with BBB. Works for me.

Morning, Lushland. There's plenty coffee (brewed by, you know who) but also a fresh case of Beaver Breath, so enjoy.

I've been tinkering with a couple micro-fiction (100 words or less) yarns for StorySpace. They fall under the general heading of, The Mis-name Game. Came up with an opening for a third but got stuck. I'll post it here. Any suggestions for continuing the tale will be taken both under advisement and with caution. :)

Greetings to all fellow wanderers down the great information highway. Got sad news. A gang of Hell's Angels came in early this morning and finished off all of Busty's coffee, among other things. They didn't drink int, of course. Seems their 'Hogs' needed lubricant.

Anyway, now Busty's all tuckered out so there'lll be no more coffee today

And what, you ask, is the bad news? Well, Alan made off with the last case of Beaver Breath just before the gang showed up. Won't get in any more until the daily shipment comes dragging up later in the day..

A TGIF morning to all good Lushers and Lushettes, especially the Marvelous Mazza who finished in the money in Lush's latest writing contest.

If you haven't read her winning entry, just click on the 'Stanley' link in her post above this one..

At the other end of the quality spectrum, the powers-that-be over on StoriesSpace have lowered their standards enough to accept my latest submission, 'The Belle of Catawba Street.' It's a bit different, being a supposedly humorous spoof of the Ku Klux Klan, so I'd really appreciate any thoughts on the subject matter.

Meanwhile, speaking of distasteful subjects, Busty seems recovered from the recent Hell's Angels visitation and has a fresh pot of her unique take on coffee waiting for the unwary.

Hi, I'm not a happy camper, thanks to this sequester shit that's going on in DC, my money is messed up and I can't really do what I wanted with my earnings. Anyway, I'm hard at work in school finishing up my final semester of community college, and excited about moving on to the university level to work heavily in my intended major.

I am writing snippets of a short story I plan on publishing soon. I don't know how the snippets are going to fit in yet, it will be a great piece once it's completed.

Sorry to hear about your Congressionally induced money woes, Sharon. I'm working on an alliterative analysis of the situation in Congress. So far I have: maladroit, malodorous, malaise, misanthropic, malign, moribund, and methitic, among others.

Good Evening My Lushketeer Friends...ah yes, we did indeed lower our standards over on the blue site by publishing your story Reverend, of course, your modest bribe may or may not have been an influence...

Speaking of modest bribes...ahem...been working hard all day reading contest entries over on the blue site, and I'm not at liberty t to say for sure, but buying me a tall mug of Beaver Breath may or may not result in one's contest entry ending up in the winner's circle...

(Looks around the room at this group of broke bums and realizes I might have to buy my own drink, a fate worse than mere death)

Hmmm...well, in that case, if there are no takers...slide me over a tall bottle of Beaver Breath Rump...looks like I'm going to have to vote myself the winner over on SS...I'll pay you back after Lisa sends me the check...

And a big congrats on your win over here Miss Mazza, haven't had time to read anything over here in a while...heck, I'm so busy lately I barely have time to drink...and that's pretty serious...

Btw, what did you win...a potato?

Cheers,
Alan.

Alan, too busy to drink, you? Oh, the horror, the horror. ;)

(slides chipped coffee mug filled with BBB over to Brother Martini)

Here you go, toiler in the fields of fiction. Me, I didn't have an entry in that particular contest so I'll be free to denounce whichever stories you pick. It's a very liberating situation, at least for me.

As to my story about 'Sweet Belle,' I appreciate and, to a great extent, even sympathize with Maggie's feelings. That I disagree with her about the nature of my story or how I handled the subject is, no doubt, a great compliment to her sincere beliefs.

Thanks Rump!! You are a sweetie!!

I had a super weekend.

A dear friend bought me tickets to see Wilko Johnson, in Glasgow last night and I took an old friend with me... Wonderful gig it was too! Great to catch up with some people I love and hang out.

Finally got to bed around 5am. Woke feeling way better than I'd any reasonable right too and headed home to find a feast prepared for Mother's Day!

Just having a final glass of wine before I turn in... Man, I am very tired!

Hope you've all had a decent one x

Good Evening my fellow Lushkins...yeah Rump, your latest assault to the English language did get a response from Miss Rascal...what's that old adage about there being no such thing as bad publicity? At least people are reading it anyway...just be glad it's not out in print, at least people aren't burning it...

I don't know how true all those rumors about people printing out your story just so they can burn it are...you know how those rumor mills work...

Anyway, the contest winners over on the infamous blue site have been announced...in the end, the size of the bribe triumphed...I mean, um, in the end creativity and talent prevailed...damn Auto-Correct...

Yeah, Miss Steffanie walked away with the big $200.00 first prize over there, well-deserved I might add...she's been one of my favorite writers over there for some time...I can see her going places in the literary world someday, if she so desires...

Speaking of going places...I, um, sort of remember that Steffanie said she'd be over to buy a round for the hard working mods over there in appreciation of her win...

Yeah, um...that's how I remember it...so, pass me a tall mug of Beaver Breath, and I'm quite certain Miss Steffanie will be right over to pick up the tab...

Yeah, that's how I remember the conversation going...so, pass the Beaver there Reverend...

Cheers,
Alan.

Morning, lovers of the Lushlife.

Alan, you want another mug of BBB? What the heck-e-darn did you do with the last one? But since Stef will be by soon to put this one on her tab (right?) and you are, no doubt all worn out from your moderating duties, here's a mug with a splash of Busty's coffee tossed in to give it some body.

Maz, glad you had a great weekend. No doubt that monetary windfall from your contest winning story helped pay for all that pleasure. ;)

Ha, Rump, I think third prize is an erotic candle! However, that is something I really like, so I'm looking forward to receiving it, running a nice deep bath and relaxing!

Today, we have snow! (and lots of it! I reckon we got 6" and not in a good way!)

It meant the schools were closed today, so the huge list of work that I have to do will have to wait a little longer!

Had a walk through the snow to post some things, but other than that, I am sitting in the TV room with teh woodburning stove blazing (which is quite nice) I may take the kids sledging and hopefully without injury to myself!

Hope y'all are having a great day too!

Maz, all that sounds suspiciously like wholesome familly fun. Hate to break the news, but award winning authors are supposed to be ne'er-do-well drunks, you know, kind of like Dirty Martini. ;)
