"I'll Get By", by John Coltrane, preceded by other John Coltrane tunes, and definitely will be followed by more Coltrane. I could listen to his music all night, and have on many occasions.

I have Blue Train and a few other of his albums. I particularly like his work with Thelonious Monk, fantastic pianist. Charlie Parker is also one of my favourites when it comes to Alto Sax players. I grew up with a lot of it playing in the house.

It has been awhile since I have listened to Monk never mind Parker. There is only so much time and my attention span changes landscapes periodically. I am glad I decided to take a look at this thread, it reminds me how much I like that era of jazz. Miles too, Cannonball, and Yusef Lateef, and ... Note to self CDs 2 ipod.

But he wasn't the whole time they were relevant, dude (which I would say 'sunset'ed with their skewering on Beavis and Butthead).
