What do you believe is the most demanding, stressful career a person can have.

I studied this a while ago, I can't remember which one was the top of the list, but all these are highly stressful:

Police Officer
Teacher
Doctor
Erotic Stories Site Owner (even part-time is enough for it to make the list)
Pilot
Armed Forces (any)

I would say number one would be Airtraffic Controller with several already mentioned as close second.

One cannot beat Erotic Story Site Owner, but being a Member of a great Adult Community Site can also (at times) be. I know. Haaaa

Teacher. Not only do you have administer your teachings through a professed paradigm, but you also have to take into account all of your student's needs as they come through a multitude of cultures, beliefs, and ideologies.

Think of it like a Think Tank, but when someone gets argumentative, they're actually in your face.

parenthood is stressful. as much joy it has there is always and will always be that worry for them, you share their hope, love, joy and disappointments, you can only wish them well and give them a good education.
all other paid professions can always change you job :)

According to Business Insider, the most stressful career is military enlisted personnel. I can agree with that one, but I'm not sure if I'd rank public relations manager, which they have at number five, above police officer, which is number ten on their list.

Any member of the Armed Forces or emergency services has an extremely stressful job. For the military, they prepare to make the ultimate sacrifice every day of their working lives. For the emergency services, their decisions and responses can mean the difference between life and death for another person. Public Relations?! Stressful?!! Its not in the same league

Parenthood, husband, wife, partner...no sale, that is your chosen obligation. You signed on. Likewise with Military or police. A confrontive on the spot decision making enterprise.

Teaching? The war against all other inherited nuances are just icing.

I would think a military bomb diffuser would be very stressful.

the most stressful job is ANY job that you hate...that you have to throw up before you leave for work every day.

the lesson is love what you do.

I'd agree with that. What I've seen of the Army sappers in Afghanistan, you can hear it in their voices.

Has to be a Pervert doesn't it. Especially as this week is World Breast Feeding Week!

I read a stat a while ago, that dentists are the profession most likely to commit suicide. So I'm guessing that would also be the most stressful, in large part because nobody ever wants to go to see you.

First of all a lol since I rather expected with a title of 'On the job' the theme of the thread would be rather different.

Interesting question since how is stress measured?. Some people fall in a heap on the floor at the slightest challenge in their lives (all stressed out) whereas give that same challenge to someone else and they would thrive on it and perhaps feel no stress whatsoever. Perhaps the bomb disposal 'person' doesnt find that job stressful at all .. its what he/she wants to do and its pumps their adrenalin like hell.

I agree completely!!! But we do get paid in unconditional love and that is better than ANY paycheck to me, and I am sure you too or any parent!!!!!

Also being in the medical field. You are there to cure and heal, and that is not always possible. The heart feels what it wants, that is sometimes very hard to control.
