When people mailed letters, not emails.
gas was under 50 cents
courtesy was the norm
I had an 8 track player in my car
our currency was worth more than wall paper
we had real leaders in government, not socialists
politician was not a curse word.
cars had belted tires
the Good Humor man was the neighborhood hero
children attended school and actually got an education
and so much more.....

I remember when......in January 1986 all the 5th grades were the only one to watch a shuttle launch with a teacher in it. There were not enough TV for all the school to see........

then....It exploded on Live TV

A tragedy I will never forget, the only thing I remember from the year my Mom died.

I remember when I went online with a dial-up 300 baud modem. Wow, I was astonished.. and lost in the cyberspace.

it was actually pretty empty... I was searching for Lush Stories haaaa. I only found lots of lost souls in the vast net.. "Heelp I Wroote a Stoory, Wheeere can I puut it?"
Nicola was still eying a way to rake all of those filthy, erotic, sensual, horny.. and drunk souls.

I remember when you could freely go outside and have fun not worrying about some weirdo driving by and abducting you.

I remember when playing games with your friends meant going to their houses, not logging in to Steam/XBox Live/PSN (yes, I'm a parent of teenager).

...my grandmother would snap green beans and spit tobacco in a Mason jar. I do miss the easy days of youth during summer with her.

when sex was much more rampant in the workplace and in general. Early to mid eighty's right before AIDS made everyone afraid to be promiscuous.

when I was praying for my mum's surgery going well, even though I had recently come to the conclusion that God didn't exist. But I was afraid and figured that I could be wrong and praying wouldn't hurt. It was the year after I was told that Sinterklaas (Dutch alternative for and one of the sources for Santa Claus) didn't really exist. I was about 9 years old.
