Even if you take away it's meaning, it's a very consonant-heavy word. It evokes a feeling of harshness, even if not meant as such. I try to avoid using it flippantly, but I personally don't take it to be a "no-no" word. Not something I'd say in front of a kid, but no word should be taboo.

I find myself agreeing with you, a lot.

I cannot say that I've never typed the word, but I've probably spoken it about as often.

It's funny. The word "cunt" is actually derived from the word "Cuneus" which just means wegde shaped. The word "vagina" means "sheath" and was used as a derogatory slang term by Roman soldiers because it was the place where one puts his "sword".

Now today, the offensive slang term is accepted as medically correct, while the inoffensive term is seen as terribly offensive.

I like the word cunt. I've also noticed that women that like to say it are usually really good in bed. Think

I don't find offense with the word. I debated using it in my story and in the end it fit with what I was writing at that moment. I have used it on rare occasions but very rare at best. On the other hand as a paramedic who works all nights in the ghetto, I have been called that and many other things way too often. When called a "cunt" by one of my pleasant "customers", I usually just take the small needle I was going to use and pick up the biggest I can find.

If I am told I am a "Dumb Blonde Cunt" those are fighting words, I am told that "I Just can't get enough of your Cunt" that is very different.

The distinction in my house is a Pussy is something a young pre-adolescence female has and a Cunt is something a mature, sexually experienced woman has.

Guys and Gals decide which side of the great divide you would like to be on.

I don't find it offensive at all. I'm a person who gets easily competitive, so if someone calls me a cunt, I'll agree and insult them in my own way. As far as using it, I'll say "cuntmuffin" out of sheer frustration against technology.

Love me. Cuff me. Spank me. Fuck me.

Yelling that in the Lounge gets you food, apparently. confused5
But hey, who is a student to turn down free food?

Anyway, it depends on the context and my mood. If I'm sad and you say that "Lydia, you are such a fucking cunt and I hate you!" I may be a bit upset. However, if you say, "Lydia, I can't get enough of your delicious cunt"...I may enjoy your company a smidge more.

Although, if you're just being a dorky person and we have a witty-insulting sort of thing goin', then if you called me a cunt, I may respond with calling you, like Hanging_Dead said (yay rhyme!) a cuntmuffin. But I usually don't care.

Wishing you well,
Lydia

don't use it, even in the actual sexual term, because I'm afraid that I might insult someone, just being careful.

Until a while ago I thought the C word was offensive to women but I have had my mind changed. A cunt is useful and for some women I now understand it is a turn on.hello2 3some Whistle

So let's say that Jane and Billy have a $100 bet on a football game or something and it's tied 1-1. Then at the very end of the game Billy's team shoots for goal and it hits the post and it just barely misses going in the net. Billy stands up and screams "FUCK, HE MISSED BY A CUNT HAIR!"

would this be appropriate usage or inappropriate?

I seriously only say it when I'm joking around with friends, calling them silly names, and whatnot. Cunt Waffle. Stupid shit. My friend Alex uses the word quite a bit. Perhaps it's because, it sounds funny? As stupid as it sounds, the greatest times he says the word, is the inappropriate times he yells "Cunt" at his grandmother. It's hysterical.. xD.

I would only say that it offends me when someone uses it to intentionally offend someone else. That's generally my view on most words.

It's a word on the extreme level. So, as has been mentioned on here, it can be taken very offensively, or used to describe an extreme sexual moment.

Not my most favourite word ...finding it a crude and callous description of the female genitalia - BUT ...have been known to use it when really angry.
