Too many to just pick one but here are some meaningful lyrics from Bob Dylan's "Ballad of Franky Lee:"

"...so if you see your neighbor carrying somethin,
Help him with his load.
And don't go mistaking Paradise,
for that home across the road."

In short, we must all help each other because no one is in Paradise. As R. E. M. says, "Everybody hurts: sometime."

I pray you'll be alright
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer
When we loose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe

Yep "I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song," was one of Jim Croce's best, no doubt about it. If you want more along that line, listen to almost ANYTHING Gentleman Jim Reeves did! Patsy Cline was another GREAT!

Jim Reeves Patsy Cline DUETS! are great! Better than Kenny and Dolly and you KNOW how good THEY were together.

"This Is The Last Song"
"Tell Laura I Love Her"

Burning on just like a match you slide to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what's the worst to take
From every heart you break
And like the blade you stain
Well, I've been holding on tonight

What's the worst thing I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

My all time favorite song is "Rhythm of Love" by Plain White T's and my favorite part is the chorus when they sing "Play the music low and Sway to the rhythm love!" This song affects me! Play this song and my man is getting some ass and I do mean a hard, hot sensual fuck! Wow! I love this song! 430-128

Fascination- by Everything But The Girl

I won't try to stop you
When you speak of the past
Doubt is over now
And I can join in when you laugh
Fascination makes us ask for more
Than we'd like to know
I needn't explain
I think you know

Reassure me when my heart's
Not bold enough to bear her name
If you were in my shoes
And scared I would do the same
And though I may ask
There's no need for past details
For though I may laugh alone
My courage fails
Did you know?

See how I've changed now
My head's so clear
Still there are some things
That I don't want to hear
There must be so much I know
That you cannot forget
And I mustn't wish your life began
The day we met

Places we go remind you
Of when you were here before
So you talk and tell me
You don't think about it anymore
There is something I know
Hasn't quite been left behind
So I'll ask you once again
To prove that I don't mind
To prove that I don't mind

Maybe you have to grow up in the rural South during the '60's to 'grok' this...maybe not.

Good Ol' Boys Like Me
-as sung by: Don Williams

I can still hear the soft southern winds in the live oak trees
And Those Williams boys they still mean a lot to me,
Hank and Tennessee.
I guess we're all gonna be what we're gonna be,
So what do you do with good ol' boys like me?

"One Year Of Love"

Just one year of love
Is better than a lifetime alone,
One sentimental moment in your arms
Is like a shooting star right through my heart,
It's always a rainy day without you,
I'm a prisoner of love inside you -
I'm falling apart all around you - yeah.
My heart cries out to your heart,
I'm lonely but you can save me,
My hand reaches out for your hand,
I'm cold but you light the fire in me,
My lips search for your lips,
I'm hungry for your touch,
There's so much left unspoken
And all I can do is surrender
To the moment just surrender
And no one ever told me that love would hurt so much,
Oooh yes it hurts
And pain is so close to pleasure,
And all I can do is surrender to your love,
Just surrender to your love,
Just one year of love,
Is better that a lifetime alone,
One sentimental moment in your arms,
Is like a shooting star right through my heart,
It's always a rainy day without you,
I'm a prisoner of love inside you -
I'm falling apart all around you - yeah.
And all I can do is surrender.

Come buy my vegetables, fruit ripe and beautiful.
Fine fresh and fancy, come buy them from me.
Come buy, come buy, come buy them from me.

Cabbages carrots and tender spring greens,
Broccoli, brussel-tops, fresh runner beans,
Peaches and plumbs, pears by the pound
Parsnips and beetroot, straight from the ground.
Apples and oranges, strawberries too.
Mushrooms, gathered in this morning's dew.
Radishes, lettuces, onions shallottes,
Tomatoes, potatoes and lots and lots - of spinach.

Come buy my vegetables, fruit ripe and beautiful.
Fine fresh and fancy, come buy them from me.
Come buy, come buy, come buy them from me.

Parella

There once was a young Spanish maiden, the fairest in all of the land.
And, there once was a young caballero, who wanted so much for her hand.
Y parella dicere haceria, parella dicere trateria, parella dicere haceria o parella dicere muertaria
For her he said he would do it,
For her he said he would try,
For her he said he would do it
Or for her he said he would die!

Take That - Rule the World.....Its my song for my 5 year old daughter.

"Rule The World"

You light, the skies up above me
A star, so bright you blind me
Don't close your eyes
Don't fade away
Don't fade away

Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl, we can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side, we can rule the world.

If walls break down, I will comfort you
If angels cry, oh I'll be there for you
You've saved my soul
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now

Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl, we can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side, we can rule the world.

All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you,

Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl, we can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side, we can rule the world.

All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you
For you
[repeat]

crying in the rain by the everly brothers. way before my time but what a great tune.

I'll never let you see
The way my broken heart is hurting me
I've got my pride and I know how to hide
All my sorrow and pain
I'll do my crying in the rain

If I wait for stormy skies
You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes
You'll never know that I still love you so
Though the heartaches remain
I'll do my crying in the rain

Raindrops falling from heaven
Could never wash away my misery
But since we're not together
I'll hope for stormy weather
To hide the tears I hope you'll never see

Someday when my crying is done
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool but until then darling you'll
Never see me complain
I'll do my crying in the rain.

Hey Hello - Black Valentine

I wasn't angry or nothin'
I just wanted to be alone
And I knew you'd never wanna go home
If you really must know I masturbated to porn online
I finished up with a bottle of wine
No, I didn't think of you when I came for the girl on the screen
I thought 'the car needs a bit of a clean.'

Sometimes the fun comes below the waistline, sunshine.

My Way - Frank Sinatra

And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

[instrumental]

Yes, it was my way

One of the above for some reason made me think of this song....with the chorus...

All that marijuana
Selling cocaine
Now they're taking blood tests
From my heroin veins
Oh baby
Things I used to do now
I was born to lose
Penitentiary blues

Slide — Goo Goo Dolls

Could you whisper in my ear
The things you wanna feel
I'd give you anything
To feel it coming

Do you wake up on your own
And wonder where you are?
You live with all your faults

I wanna wake up where you are
I won't say anything at all
So, why don't you slide

Yeah, I'm gonna let it slide

Don't you love the life you killed?
The priest is on the phone
Your father hit the wall
Your ma disowned you

Don't suppose I'll ever know
What it means to be a man
It's something I can't change
I'll live around it

I wanna wake up where you are
I won't say anything at all
So why don't you slide
Ooh, slide

And I'll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall
Oh, May
Put your arms around me
What you feel is what you are
And what you are is beautiful
Oh, May
Do you wanna get married or run away?

And I'll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall
Oh, May
Put your arms around me
What you feel is what you are
And what you are is beautiful
Oh, May
Do you wanna get married
Or run away?

I wanna wake up where you are
I won't say anything

And I'll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall
And I'll do anything you ever dreamed to be complete
Little pieces of the nothing that fall
Yeah, slide between the sheets of all them beds you never knew
Why don't you slide into my room
Just slide into my room
Oh, we'll run away, run away, run away

[And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.]

For me, this is one of the sexiest ballads ever written. When I first heard it, I was convinced it was written by the Great Leonard (Cohen). It was only when I read the sleeve notes some months later, that I discovered it was written by his fellow Canadian Madeleine Peyroux.

There's perfume burning in the air
Bits of beauty everywhere
Shrapnel flying, soldier hit the dirt.
She comes so close
You feel her, then
She tells you No and No again
Your lip is cut on the edge of her pleated skirt.
Blue Alert.

Visions of her drawing near
Arise, abide and disappear,
You try to slow it down
It doesn't work.
It's just another night I guess
All tangled up in nakedness
You even touch yourself, you're such a flirt.
Blue Alert.

You know how nights like this begin
The kind of knot your heart gets in
Anyway you turn it's gonna hurt.
There's perfume burning in the air
Bits of beauty everywhere
Shrapnel flying, soldier hit the dirt.
Blue Alert.

She breaks the rules so you can see
She's wilder than you'll ever be
You talk religion but she won't convert.
Her body's twenty stories high
You try to look away, you try
But all you want to do is get there first.
Blue Alert.

There's perfume burning in the air
Bits of beauty everywhere
Shrapnel flying, soldier hit the dirt.
Blue Alert. Blue Alert. Blue Alert.

"Lately"

Lately, I have had the strangest feeling
With no vivid reason here to find
Yet the thought of losing you's been hanging
'round my mind

Far more frequently you're wearing perfume
With you say no special place to go
But when I ask will you be coming back soon
You don't know, never know

Well, I'm a man of many wishes
Hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
‘Cause they always start to cry
‘Cause this time could mean goodbye

Lately I've been staring in the mirror
Very slowly picking me apart
Trying to tell myself I have no reason
with your heart

Just the other night while you were sleeping
I vaguely heard you whisper someone's name
But when I ask you of the thoughts your keeping
You just say nothing's changed

Well, I'm a man of many wishes
I hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
‘Cause they always start to cry
‘Cause this time could mean goodbye, goodbye

Oh, I'm a man of many wishes
I hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
‘Cause they always start to cry
‘Cause this time could mean goodbye
