I plan to send my wife a dozen roses to her office, get her 2 cards, one romantic and one funny one, a small box of chocolates (or she'll accuse me of trying to make her get fat), and take her out to nice restaurant for dinner.

If I think of something creative I might toss that in. In fact I would like to think of something new to try. I've done some silly stuff like serenade her, and took her to a strip joint once (she loved it). I've bought her lingerie and given her jewelry in the past.

So what are your plans for Valentines Day?

Seeing as Valentines day I'd the single busiest day of the year for my woman (she works in the chocolate business) we won't be doing anything extravagant. Her day starts at 3:00 AM and the last thing she will want to do is get dolled up to go out for dinner. So instead I will....

- prepare a candle lit bubble bath for her
- pour a glass of her favorite wine
- give her a massage
- prepare dinner
- let her know I love her in more ways than one Shhh

The night that changed my life, a four part series of a married man lusting after his co-worker

I can't say because she might read this before tomorrow :)

I'm a romantic girl though, I have something planned.

We met in March last year so this is our first Valentine's Day together love3

Valentines day isn't something my husband and I celebrate, to be honest.
I much prefer when out of the blue he will show me is some small way that he has thought of me.
It means more, I think

Living the beautiful single life. Like a boss.

Nah, my dad is visiting and is paying for everything this weekend.

BOOM!

Better than V-Day. I get all the gifts and money without the commitment and exhausting wooing.

Waking him up early to umm exchange some gifts, in the shower, before he goes to work. Then small party with our kids and niece and nephews. The evening I have no idea what is going on, other than I know there is a big package that I'm not allowed to open at until after the kids go to their grandparents. 5pm tomorrow can't come around fast enough.

I didn't even remember that it was tomorrow.

I'll probably be working on a huge research paper that's due soon.

I will be getting close and personal with "Jameson", a book, good tunes and a blazing fire.

I'm surprising my sweetie with a cooking class all about chocolate. Then a quick trip to Tiffany's where she will refuse anything, but I may still "make" her pick out something. After that ... I have hopes but no plans.

I am going to sent her some roses and chocolate covered strawberries. Then I am going to take her to a great Italian restaurant, go see About Last Night, and take a walk around Manhattan if the weather is not too bad. Also, give her a massage!

I have very bad (psychologically scarring) memories associated with Feb. 14th and unfortunately V-day happened to fall on that day as well. Because of this, I am not big on the whole celebration aspect of the day anymore because it's a bit of a black hole in my memory banks.

Having said that - as long as it's not too 'V-day'ish' I'm trying to come to a place of peace with the whole thing. As long as there's no heart-shaped anythings or cards involved. So tonight he's making me dinner and there will be some dirty fun for dessert. And we're definitely getting drunk. Tomorrow is snowboarding! I might even work myself up to wearing my pink beanie <-- technically, that's pretty v-day for me.
