The NFL announced today that for financial reasons, they had to
eliminate one team from the league. So they've decided to combine the
Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and form one team,
therefore saving jobs They will be known as the TAMPACKS.
Unfortunately, they are only good for one period and have no second
string.

I do so hate the packers not their backers.

I would tend to agree, Bat - elimination of the Cheeseheads next door would not break my heart.

Hmmm, a far as the ladies, I was banking on them having those moods that would call for being carried off by a bare legged wild-eyed, bad-boy, longish-haired Viking with my true purplish "colors" out front.....

I suppose the Raiders or Bucs could hope for the same wild ideas....

I am glad y'all can celebrate the "Yes We Can" aspects.

I wonder about the hypocracy of the Marxist Left when I read about their plans (for which there is not enough money in the world, much less the corporations which many of you work for)and the vitriol - pressing Bush for war crimes evidence, not supporting the same freedoms for defenseless Iraqi women and children, and the quashing of any dissent or discussion from conservatives (Fairness Doctrine, anyone? not!), the penny-ante police state-type efforts, oh, and the failure of Hollywood and gays out there to recognize and respect the voice of the people.....which exactly democratic principles do the Left really respect?

Oh, found this interesting. The Charlie Rose Show the night following the election had Tom Brokaw and other non-journalists (in the mold of Chris Matthews who now says it is "journalist's" jobs to see Obama's ideals and policies brought to fruition. Journalists? That was not the profession I learned about....) actually saying out loud, "we really don't know who this man is or what he is going to do!"

Exactly. The American electorate voted for someone based solely on his 6.25% color, and as some form of token appeasement to the world, and themselves. Good job, folks.

I am personally able to handle whatever you dish out. I worry about our constitution however....

While I do not like Obama's economics, vision and experience, I believe he is a good father, husband, and a nice guy (though manipulative.) I will try to speak respectfully, but I am pretty disappointed the "Fuck McCain" stuff. Really disappointed.

Yes, I ratcheted Z's playfulness up a bit, and should have remembered it was a a humor thread. She knows how to yank my chain, but knew exactly who and what she was doing, and does not take my response personally.

I would be sorry to hear anyone lost their job, but I find it highly unlikely, unless your husband, and I am not being mean or disrespectful, was a drug pusher or immigration control officer or working in some outdated non-competitive early 20th century manufacturing job, that McCain's policies would have had anything near to being responsible for the loss of a job.

Frankly, more people are likely to lose their jobs if/when Obama's non-capitalistic fervor over redistribution of wealth, heaven forbid, makes it out of DC.

And Z, I would very much enjoy the repartee of a good-natured debate with you, except in the smoke-filled back rooms of Tammany Hall. LOL.

Can we steer this away from politics, please?

Judging from Zaf's outfit, she's looking for a "Packer".

Of course, mine is prepaid and painless, right? - isn't that what the party promises, everything for everybody?

As for the self-deputized, and as I have been told many times, there is a channel clicker and one does not have to watch this one....

Hey, with Z there, I can overcome the environment, no matter how bleak and sour it might be really. Since it is cold, I can relish her in her t-shirt, and amuse myself in wondering if she was really excited about a dinner date, or......

Hey, even though this will be casual, perhaps dinner out of a bucket or something, I do try to present a little class. So, NO on the tennis shoe pumps, k?

Just remember, I get to pick the setting for dessert!!

No, those shoes look pretty classy. Would go with a Bear's jersey, right?

Or were you having second thoughts about dessert and gonna break it off?

I don't know why you would worry about my not making it through dinner.

After the years over here, I can get through the overcooked, the unseasoned, the fat and gristle and even some crow. I seem to manage to find any choice bits. I am assuming there would be some good bits?

Unless you are resorting to ground glass or arsenic, or inviting Michael Moore to join us, I think I can hold my own.
