Of course I am addicted to porn. When I watch it, it leaves me numb, and conflicted. Persecuted by the illusion of what I could be instead of who I pretend to be. But when I stop, I discover that the unpleasant numbness I experienced is the grit of life. For the great expanse of nothingness without porn is more horrific. It threatens to swallow me whole, blacking out my existence, sadistically piping back the echoes of my own muffled screaming to mock the last tortured moments of my voyeuristic sobriety.
Of course that could be the dopamine talking.
