I would write about any personal turn-on real or unreal. There might/would be glimpses of the dark-side if it had to add to the experience or be used to explain. But only glimpses for the benefit of the lighter good.

Rape tops my list of things I would never write about. Tied for first is scat. Anything having to do with ingesting pee/poo or um...throwing up, (eww) will forever be off limits in my book.

 It seems there are a lot of subjects that are touchy, that some people like and some people do not. Anything involving adults with children is off My list, it is not erotic, nor sexual, nor appealing. Human sexuality is a complex subject, and elsewhere where I have posted stories in the past I have been called inbred, a degenerate, sick, and quite a slew of inappropriate things. I usually find myself scrathing my head over such things, when the subjects I have written on have at least hundreds of websites devoted to them, and are pretty much the same acts you would find in an old school "Letters" magazine. I, like stepanie, avoid using contraceptives in My stories. I usually do so as it is a reflection of life, and let's face it, nothing slows down a scene like turning it into an advertisement for safe sex when the action gets going. If it goes with the flow of the story I will have a character slip on a condom, but if not I am not going to go out of My way to put it in so other people feel comfortable, and believe Me over at Douche Bag City I was slammed on a story where a man was with a prostitute because I did not include a condom. There is a laundry list of subjects that would fall into the category of things I would never write about, although a majority of them due to the fact that they are things I have never had any direct experience with, or even indirect experience through the sharing with close friends. Like a good author should I only try to write about subjects I know. It is okay to write about fantasies as long as they are grounded in enough reality to make them real. -MV

Stuff I won't touch- rape, scat, kids, animals. And now felching. And rainbow-whatevers, I'm not even looking that one up.
Stuff I just can't pull off- incest. I won't even mess around with parent/child stuff, and sibling incest creeps me out too. A person I sometimes write for really wants some sister/sister smut, but I get the crawlies every time I try.

Wow, that's a pretty good laundry list of topics!
What I would write about:
Rape: Yes, if it is fantasy and both parties are turned on by it, and it's non-violent. I hate violence in any form.
Kids: A definite no-no if it involves underage children. Yes if it's a an adult-adult interaction with one acting/dressed like a child (although I have no interest whatsoever in adult-babies. That's just too weird for me, borderline psycho). I'm thinking more along the lines of schoolgirl fantasy here.
Animals: Absolute no. Animals are the most innocent beings and have no control whatsover over what happens to them. Leave them alone in sexual fantasies, please.
Scat: No, because I don't like the look or smell of poo. Besides, I'm guessing the readership must be very limited (perhaps I'm naïve?).
Pee: As a guy, it can be fun and a turn-on to watch a girl taking a pee, or feeling the warmth of the flow in one's hands, especially if the flow is through her panties (but, that's just because I'm a panty perv :-). Not sure about swallowing it, because I never tried. In any case, this would happen outside of a toilet area, because IMHO toilets are there for practical purposes, carry germs, and generally turn me off.
Puke: That's totally sick :-) Let's not even go there.

I would not write or read anything that is not between consenting adults. I will write pretty hard scenes I have seen a few.
I will not write about toilet scenes, or anything to do with participant not consenting, rape, or under age persons.
Incest no problem but parents with their own adult children, I would have to consider long and hard. I would have to dream up some pretty unusual scenario like something accidental.

There is nothing I wouldn't write about. How I portray the subjects is where I'll start drawing lines.
You can write a story that contains rape and still express your disgust for it. Granted 90% of people don't need to be reminded about how cruel rape is, but it can be used to make people loathe a character, provided said story is fictional and not portraying real people. How detailed you go with certain subjects is where I draw the line.

Erotica and general fiction are two very different things to me. In terms of erotica, I wouldn't write about kids, animals, murder/torture for sexual pleasure, or parent/child incest. In terms of fiction in general, there is no topic off bounds. I just would not be writing about it with the intention of turning someone on or creating arousal, but more as plot points to drive the story. In that sense, anything is fair game to me.

The thing about writing erotica is that usually the author writes about things they have done or things they fantasize about doing. At least I do! That rules a lot of subjects out for me. I have to agree with the felching comments. Gross! LOL I was really surprised when i first published on Lush. My first two stories got rejected and I had to rewrite. Surprised but pleased! An erotica story site with standards! Awesome!
I think Lush ROCKS! It's well designed, easy to use, and most importantly, very well moderated! That's something most other erotic story sites lack.
There is one glaring exception in illegal and abhorrent to most people subject material, that is permissible on Lush. I feel that degrades the site a bit, but since I have already had my say on that elsewhere, I think I will be discrete this time and not mention it by name. LOL.
At least the offensive (to me) subject is well tagged so I can usually avoid it. Other sites aren't so good at that.
Lush is way better than it's competitors!

I would never write about someone having sex with their boss. There is such a huge imbalance of power I don't know that it could ever be consensual.
I also read about Cleveland Steamers earlier. Well, one thing I would never write about would be Stanley Steamers. Never.
Plants neither, I would never include plants in any of my stories. Especially evergreens. Triple yuck for daffodils.
Another inconsiderable act would be tractor tipping. I have no idea who could live with themselves after doing such nasty things.
I'm sure I could come up with more. But there is a start. bosses, steam cleaners, plants, and tractors. GROSS!

This is probably a common response but I would never write about ... INCEST! Sheesh, people around here must have extremely well-preserved and sexy parents. By the time I was old enough to masturbate, mine were not all that appealing to me. I just don't get it. Never had the urge to get it on with my sisters either, though we were all o.k. Spanking?
