is anyone surprised Willie was caught with weed?? or do you mean, because of his age, that he shouldn't be charged? not sure if I am following what you mean.
First of all, if carrying weed is an offense where ever one is ... it is then obviously illegal, regardless of age of the offender.
Wouldn't our laws suffer terribly if there were an expiry on offenses for an AGE? laughing .... I can just hear it in court "But, your Honour, Will is 77, and we would like to request leniency." Like, really???
Besides, Willie is VERY AWARE of what is right and wrong .... he's lived 77 years (OK ... a number of his years are a blurry mess) .... but he's a dumbass for carrying.

There's an 84 year old man not far from where I live that was arrested over the week-end for poking a police officer with his cane. Several times. No leniency for him.

Finding Willie Nelson holding pot is like finding Ru Paul buying shoes. I mean, is anybody really surprised? Ten to one the judge gives him a suspended sentence, and maybe makes him record one of those "Just Say No" commercials they love to have the famous people do.

Ok so when exactly is society going to get over themselves and decriminalize it? It costs less than beer and has never been known to cause an argument.. and guess what.. no war :) hahahah

Yep, no new news here...he's been popped for it before if I remember right lol. He can afford the consequences involved I'm sure.
On a similar note, I heard a radio personality today talking about this and then said something about a facebook page being started up because of the charges against him, it's called the "Tea Pot Party", or something along those lines.

so,I know very few people (including my own parents) who haven't tried pot,I've got no beef with it.the Government needs to pull their ego out of their collective butts and quit telling us what we can and can't do!!!!

I can't understand WHY it is even against the law. The only reason it really is was that william randolph hurst and the major tobacco companies were worried about their money and competition back in the the 30's. Part of the world accepts it and part doesn't, that makes no sense either, it is a great source of pain relief, appetite enhancer, nausa suspressent for cancer patients. as well as the benefits for glacoma patients. There are no legitimate studies that show any reason for it to be illegal or that it is detramental. The only thing wrong with it can be relieved with it be decriminalized, the underground aspect that causes the violence involved with it. Not to mention the potential money in fees and taxes that can be obtained from it. All I see are wins to decriminalize, what are the losses? Colorado, USA has already shown the potential for tax benefits available. Amsterdam knows it, Canada knows, why doesn't the US?

It's illegal. Period. Until it's decriminalized there's no defence. Simple really.
