My first memories had the dialup noise, too. I'd go to the local BBS, which was somebody's computer. Did my first chats there; all text based.
Did anybody else do that?

 An IBM 370 mainframe from 1980 Used it in college. Moved from that to an IBM 4341. Got to run on a Cray 3 - once. Bat

Bat Those things were the size of and built like a tank too. I remember paying $200.00 for 4MB of memory. Had a customer pay $600.0 for 16MB thought that was a good deal too. LOL Back around 1994
