Holy crap. Seems just a wee bit extreme don't ya think? Even by the ridiculous break down of how that money could be spent shouldn't then the mom, Supermodel Linda Evangelista, also have to be responsible for matching the $46k from her ex?

who cares??  These people have more money than the corporate execs in our world ... $46K a month is nothing for the type of lifestyle they live. For the common man, living a common lifestyle, $46K a year is living (Ok , for some, barely living). The Model's beauty will fade and she will no longer be able to work (how sad!) and this is all just her pension plan. (Wish my pension plan looked that good!)

Seriously? That's insane! It takes me three years to make that much. Why doesn't she share the love? These are the same people that fight the tax laws tooth and nail to save a few dollars while the common man has to deal with supporting them and their kiss me I'm rich lifestyle. Just plain unacceptable!

EEppppss and here I was bitching about only getting $300 a month in child support for two teenagers. (well fighting to get it). I need a better lawyer. Thats outrageous.

I agree that is insane, I only hope that the child will see the lion's share of it, but I don't hold my breath for it. However in the state of California, the mom / dad (whoever is in custody of the kid) can get up to 26% of the GROSS income for the month. So that means that the guys she is going after for the child support makes at least $177,000 a month (if she filed in California I don't know how it works in other places). Personally its women like this that make other women look bad. I don't have a problem with a woman getting child support, (in fact I think in most cases its a great thing) but this just sounds like she is a gold digger, she has her own money and a lot of it, but because she doesn't want to be with the guy anymore she is gonna fleece him for everything. She makes all women look like greedy lil bitches who only want a man for his money, makes finding a good honest man even harder than it already is.

How much money does the father make? Shouldn't a father or mother support a child in the best manner that they can afford? Should the mother be stuck with all the work of raising a child, and the father only give the kid what he wants? Yatzee is right; these people aren't like us. Rich people live much better than those of us who struggle from paycheck to paycheck, but the amount of money doesn't matter. If a man has a child by a woman he should pay child support. If he has children by three different women he should pay enough child support to all three so that they can live in the circumstances that he can afford for himself.
If this father has children by another woman and actually raises them in his home, should the child he doesn't raise be less fortunate than the ones he does?
Lafayettemister, if the father of the child devotes equal time to raising and caring for the child, getting it to bed, feeding it, changing it's diaper etc, the Linda Evangelista should also chip in 46K. Otherwise, screw him.

That's way to much. Period, end of story.
And child support depends, if the womens well off such as the person in this case the dad shouldn't have to pay a dime. It's obvious she's milking the baby. it's not a stock or bond. if she can afford a damn lawyer to actually win that much she doesnt need a damn cent of it, and I guarantee you the kid won't see any of it. it should be dependent on the financial needs of either parent. If the dad has custody, it only fair it should work both ways.

well, everything is relative yeah? most that are reading this, me included, its a vast sum of cash. but i just read or saw rather a photo essay about children and where they sleep. there was one little girl whos mother spends 1k a month on her wardrobe alone. i am sure that with tutors, education, music lessons, nannies and drivers and what have you, her mom spends close to that 46k. when you are taking about people with a net worth of millions or billions then 46K is drop in the bucket.

Yeah. LMB just described my opinion better than I could. This woman, I assume, is a celebrity, who was dating a rich guy. If he can comfortably afford 46K a month in child support, that's what he needs to pay.
