I've tried recently to start watching porn again mostly out of boredom. Me and my wife tried to watch it together but we mostly end up laughing at the silliness & cringing at the crudeness. I like it when there seems to be a genuine connection between the participants - which is rare in commercial porn. You do get it sometimes in home-made porn, where the couple make it for their own pleasure. Sometimes its amateur nature is more erotic - perhaps becasue it is real.

Being a little bit older, we have watched a great deal of porn from the days of the VHS tapes, (remember those?), to the current productions.
I am particular in what I like to watch. The older porn had more of a story but with really bad acting. The sex was hot as it seemed so natural and not as badly looped as the videos in the late 80's to mid 90's. Plus there were rarely any plastic surgury bodies and it made it more enjoyable to feel like a voyeur watching real people fucking.
The current stuff seems too fake and much to cheap. It's too harsh and not very enjoyable. I've found more enjoyment out of watching amateurs and real people than the high end production stuff. There are few actresses that I enjoy watching but not too many.

I am quite into porn, but I'm a little picky about what turns me on. I agree with naughtyannie, I like it more when there seems to be a genuine connection between the people and it's not just your normal porn set scene. I can't stand it when some chick is so blatantly faking her enjoyment by screaming at the top of her lungs. To answer the question, I watch porn because it's hot. Sometimes it's for stimulation, sometimes I'm bored and it's just random, sometimes it gives me interesting ideas for stories or things I want to try in my own sex life.
