It turns out that this is an app for the android market, with around 5 million downloads..

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.aphrodisiac&hl=en

disappointingly there are no author credits but lots of stories have been lifted without consent. What can we do???

I really don't know what we can do.

I was annoyed myself (and that is saying it politely lol) when I found this application a month ago and found out they have nearly - if not all of our stories on there with no mention of Lush Stories or Author. All praise goes to them.

I wrote to the application developer AND to Android market explaining they did not ask for permission blah blah copyright blah blah and heard nothing! cussing

That link to Aphrodite doesn't seem to work...not a huge surprise there...but, on other sites it says the app has over 20k stories...

So basically, this guy steals all our stories, gets 1 million downloads, and adds ads to the “free” app – which is where he generates whatever income it is he’s making.

I believe all stories on lush have been removed now.

We should make a purpose built app for the android market too, which takes advantage of our mobile version of lush, coming out early next year. Each story would have a link back to the author who wrote it's profile page (or the story page), and the app is branded lush stories all over.

I like it.

If you find anything on another website that is being used without permission, simply send an email to their web server pointing out the copyrighted material that is being used by one of their sites without permission. The server will usually take the site down very quickly to prevent a lawsuit.

Yes, this does work.

I have an "associate" who is a web designer and hacker. He has used this in the past to force payment from web thief's.

They are US based, but the owner is hiding in France!

I downloaded this app again after seeing this message and as far as I can see, all stories, editors picks etc are still on there. If you search for 'Lush' there are plenty of stories that show titles with 'Lush Stories'. Brick wall

I like your idea about creating our own thumbright

Thanks Fugs. I don't have an android phone, but was told by another author that her stories had been removed, and others she'd checked had too.

I bet they've scraped lush and a few other sites to fill up "their" collection, and have no idea which stories are which anymore. The only thing to do is have their app taken down entirely.

I want to get our own app going. It would be an extension of lush really, and all authors would get recognition for their stories.

@FtlMale - thank you for the information. Remember to go after people in the correct order.

Androlib.com looks like the equivalent of the APP Store for Apple - you need to go after the person who put together the aphrodite app first and foremost. Why? There could be dozens and dozens of Androlib.com type sites, where he has posted his app. Forcing the removal of content from the source APP, will then peter out to all the websites the app is being advertised on.
