Supposed to get chilly here tonight so I'm using leftovers to make ham/bean soup. Fresh loaf of hot bread out of the oven to go with and sweet cream butter.

Last night was my night to cook. I grilled pork steaks that I had marinated. The marinate I made was made from red wine, soy sauce, paprika, pepper and garlic powder. I cooked stir fried brown rice with diced onions and carrots in it. I also cooked green beans nice and crunchy in a stir pan. I also made some corn bread, following my granddad's instructions from new corn meal that he gave me from corn grown on his farm. We had a California Rose wine to go with supper.

My wife's turn to cook. She made spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. We had a small green salad with an Italian vinaigrette dressing, then she served up her delicious spaghetti with meat sauce & meatballs with french bread and cabernet savignon. She will not allow me in the kitchen when she cooks this. She says I'll see what she is doing then I'll learn all her ingredients in her meat sauce. She knows I love to cook and she does a fantastic job on this meal so she is protecting her turf. She says she does not want me stealing her thunder. That's all cool. Dinner was spectacular!

Last night with friends over: Tossed garden salad, ribeye steaks (charcoal grilled), grilled corn on the cob (crackin' style), baked potatoes, and chilled merlot. For dessert: hot apple pie w/vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sprinkles.

I have sworn to never use my "leftovers" trick, so last night was homemade Mongolian grill with chicken, mushrooms, onions, carrots, peppers and mushroom sauce. It's hard to do when the restaurant's grill is 600 degrees and mine only goes to about 450. Tonight however, is fresh, homemade halibut and chips. I got a first class deep fryer for Christmas, and this old family recipe is about to get used! I'm even going to cut my own fries up. Tomorrow? We're eating out. Sorry hubby, but two nights of home cooking in a row? You married a psychologist, not Racheal Ray.

I texted my fiance justa few minutes ago to tell him I am craving Chinese food, so we are going out for Chinese. I plan to have green pepper steak and Chinese veggies on brown fried rice.
