Good evening lushies. Need some help and thought I'd look for a woman's take on this. I've been asked to publish some erotic stories but need a suitably erotic pen name. I'm looking for something tasteful (not Dick Plunger!!!). Any suggestions?

I have gone through this too. Definitely avoid the porn-name route or anything that sounds too made-up or sex-fused. I'd just go with a masculine normal sounding name and base it more on the style of your erotica. If you're more into romance-erotica, maybe you'd lean to more of a seductive/soap-opera type name, and if you write edgier/hardcore stuff, maybe you'd be better to keep it clean/crisp and strong. If you want to be taken seriously with writing, you need a serious name. Even if you look at porn these days, everyone chooses real/normal names. Think Manuel Ferrara and Evan Stone rather than Ben Dover or Seymore Butts. You may also want to go back in your family tree for a name that you can pull that will give you more of an attachment to it, and make it more personal for you.

Thanks for your advice. Yes I do think that I need to choose something that doesn't sound like a character from a Carry On film lol.

if you're trying to find a name for writing erotica, go with something that mirrors the kind of writing you do - bdsm writing, you want something rough or fancy, for example, but yeah, something serious, not jokey, unless you're writing comic-erotica?

Thanks Sprite. Actually had a few thoughts now, although some of them are female (I'm guessing it doesn't matter if its a pseudonym). So far I have Layla Jazz, Buck Bailey and Honey Creme!

Thanks for the advice and suggestion. Well after much deliberation have chosen two (one for stories with female pov and one for male pov). Look out for Layla Jazz and Buck Bailey!
