I am shocked about the fascination with incest.

I was surprised at how bright and erudite most users seem. How the majority of posters are competent users of their native tongue. The amount of intelligent political and social comments. The great YouTube and picture threads that actually entertain, the wit and camaraderie that a lot of the more experienced posters display when interacting with one another... You got cool Mods too btw. I am not used to this...I thought at first I had stumbled upon some parallel universe type of internet community....where everything is the opposite of what it has been in my Universe of Yahoo, pd,fb, trolling YouTube comments and fluffy wiccan message forums. I like it here.

I am a newbie, less than a month, so I am sure my words wouldn't carry the weight of a mult-year seasoned pro; but surprisingly, I do have a voice here. I write a story and from comments and emails I learn my mistakes, edit them and and a few minutes later, the edited version is online. Thank You, Nazhinaz, Gypsymoth, TheScottishGal, LauraLee_sugah, DLizze and many others for your comments. Thank You Lush! I venture into the forums and find Nicola's postings, which contain valuable information on nearly every category I could think of. Additional input from other seasoned writers such as Gypsymoth, Dirty Martini, Mistress of Words, and the effervescent Sprite as well as many others, guide my path. Thank You All! I read the stories, so many stories, and find real gems such as PennLady's "Pretending Series", "Sensual Scenes: Patent Pumps" by Cumgirl, "Paris in Flames" by Sprite. "Editor's Picks", so many beautiful stories, so many gifted writers! I find I am reading such amazing stories and the authors allow me to comment, even criticize their gems; but more important, I learn from them. I love it. Is Lush perfect? No, of course not! But it seems to be home for FtLMale.

All I came here for was to read other's stories, and to get some feedback on my stories but I have found some "friends" here, too. I was, and continue to be, pleasantly surprised at how open other writers are with offering help, suggestions, and comments. I have been on various social sites off and on since about 2000, and this is by far the friendliest. And I am surprised (and a little scared) by a connection I made, and am making here, that I was not looking for at all.

Nicola, you are totally correct, but I am surprised at the world in general goggling "incest" so much. Rather Scary!

April 2012, we are to be wed on a Tibetan mountain top. The Dalai Lama will be in charge of the nuptials as Buddhist monks cremonially chant and 1000 whit doves are released. Decided to go small as we didn't want to make a fuss.

I was shocked at the popularity of incest stories. In the region I am from (southern USA) incest is considered on the same sicko level as child molestation and bestiality. So yes totally surprised at that.

Mainly just the openness of everybody, especially about sex and ect, there seems to very few subjects that are taboo, and everybody chips in really good info and opinions up front personal and mostly genuine, thats something i havent seen very much before, but i definatley makes me want to stick around here a while :)

1. The quality of the stories and talent of the authors. They're just great to read. Some of them are so good that I feel they should be published.
2. People are open mind and friendly here, always give constructive advice, and respect other people's opinions.

Since the passing of my wife, it was her idea that I come to this site and stop grieving and meet new friends who understand all the needs life offers us! I have met some amazingly kind and intelligent friends on here that I cherish who treat me with respect and that I can just be myself and share thoughts and ideas so freely! I appreciate those that will read this and would love to meet you if ever you need a true friend!! Blessings! Ricky

Apart from the quality of the writers and the great stories and poems that are published on the site... The social relevancy is surprising - I remember when first creating a profile and "making" friends the most common advice I got was - "be careful of the drama, sometimes it feels like High School". The funny thing was that it was given from everyone I talked to. I did not really understand it at the time. Almost one year of lushing later, I´m afraid to say that what surprises me the most today is how much of this "drama" exists in the social aspect of the site. How intensly some ideas / concepts / preferences / views are debated in the forums. Its quite an interesting social system. Very organic. Edit: Forgot to mention, it is def. not a bad thing. Its more surprising than anything. Overwhelming RealityFrom Across the Room

I know right? I once told a joke to a guy in passing (and in private) and he totally flipped out! The joke was so preposterous that no one with half a brain would have taken it seriously but he still did. Who knows why... To get attention maybe? But it happens. Even to the guys that are "above it." The Drama on lush is crazy! But we all get involved in it. It's impossible not to if you actually talk to people on here. Drama happens whenever humans interact over a long period of time, on lush or not.

The fact that there are actually nice people on here and the quality of most of the stories. Oh, and some people respect your choice of not wanting to cyber and don't insist :)

i joined this site about 3 yrs ago. i never used the site beyond reading up until a month ago. i took the time to "pimp" my pro and haven't regretted it! this is a quality site and i rather enjoy it. the ppl here tend to practice a "live & let live" policy. it's a wonderful environment to discover your sensual/sexual side!

What a noob that guy must have been. Imagine, actually believing in one if the most accepted authors on the site. What an absurd notion. That must have one crazy lie you told him. Your social analises is spot on! That is exactly what is so interesting and surprising. Its way more socially complex then what a new member imagines. Overwhelming RealityFrom Across the Room

The quality of much of the writing has surprised me. There are some very talented writers on Lush.
The way I have felt free to open up to people on Lush and tell them things I would never tell anyone in my "real world"

The funny thing is that the guy wasn't really a "noob". He had been a member for many months but maybe I am not sure what a noob is, I don't really use words like that, but he wasn't so new. I guess in a writing community the authors do stand out from the rest but yes, I agree, it is an absurd notion to blindly believe everything someone says, especially while having a non-serious conversation, simply because they have a creative talent (especially one like writing). Thank you for the compliment on my analysis. I'm always happy to analyze. Lies and jokes.Lets say Paul McCartney, one of the greatest singer-songwriters ever, came up to me and said. "Hey Jack, why did the chicken cross the road?" And I say. "I don't know Paul, why?" Then he answers "To teach the possum it can be done." I can either say. A. "Oh very clever Paul, I see how you changed it up with the possum thing because they always get hit by cars." or B. "Fuck you Paul. You're trying to tell me that chickens and possums communicate? This whole time I genuinely thought the chicken crossed the road to get to the other side and NOW YOURE FEEDING ME THESE LIES!!!!! I'm like the president of the Wings fan club and you LIE TO ME!" B is the drama queen answer.

I'm surprised by all the coded arguments LOL
But no, really, the best thing about the site is the stories and the people behind them. Forum threads and chatrooms: they come and go. But the stories, and a helpful and supportive community of writers, are what endures. That's what I was most surprised by when I joined, and it's still a pleasant surprise for me. You get what you give and then some here.
