Never really liked the Betales.
Granted, haven't listened to all their stuff and probably had to be around in the sixties to appreciate the impact but...don't know what it is. A perceptive friend pointed out that the music I love is very emotional. The Beatles are definitely not emotional.

I've always thought of their songs as having lots of emotion in them - whether it's happiness or sadness. That's part of the reason why I love listening to them.

Hard to explain – perhaps it is because the lyrics are so simplistic, almost childlike. There is no doubt they were craftsmen but their songs lack a resonance for me.
