A couple of people on here know who I am...we have exchanged face pictures etc, a few know my name and real email address. Of the people that know I trust them enough to know that they wouldn't just turn up at my door.....well hopefully not anyway!!

I have done it about 23 times. I consider that anbody that requests to be my friend , and those that I initiate friendship with deserve the "real" me.

Perhaps I am in a minority. Whilst clearly (duh!) the avatar isnt me everything on my profile is true even my location down to the local town. I have nothing to hide and actually dont feel comfortable not being me and perhaps telling porkies and sometimes BS. I am however single etc and have nothing to fear from the risks that others may have in different situations. Hope that makes sense !!

Although I don't tell people my name unless I come to trust them, all my pics are me and I don't try to pretend to be something I'm not--what people see is what they get. I'm 40, have three terrific kids, and proud to say I'm married to a wonderful man who loves me to death (for some unknown reason lol). And he knows about my profile and time here, and we talk about the great people I've "met" all the time. But the whole name is a tough one to give out, with all you can learn about people on the internet it's frightening. I've had several people stalk me before (one for 15 years!), so I do have to be careful with that. I should also say that one of my new friends I trust enough to tell my full name (there've been three) actually sent me a page with a ridiculous amount of info about me, going back about 15 years. He did it to be a smart ass, but thank god he's not a stalker.... yet lol . .I'm a loner, Dottie. A Rebel... . .

My first name is Kim but I have changed my surname otherwise my ASL is real as is my photo. I haven't given my real ID, email address, phone number, Facebook or Twitter links to anyone and no one has asked me for them. It would take a lot of time and trust building on their part for me to disclose more information. From the other angle I haven't asked anyone for their real ID either

I have revealed more personal things to a few persons, only a very select few. I do change my avatar at times, but today it's me. Gary hair and hat. I regard myself as a gentleman and trust people until they give me reason not to. I did recently get duped but that's a rare thing indeed. Yes, "JB" is a pen name, but all my friends know my real name, Gary. Now you all know it. Cheers.
Cheers,
"JB"

I have not shared my info with anyone, but I'm also fairly new here. So, I can only give what I think of it. I feel it would be great to share real info with selected individual, since you can share real thoughts with real same like peoples. You might not find this person on your job or within your circle of friends.
I also feel that many (not all) on this site might exercise who they really are. So it would be a real experience to share.
At least according to Oscar Wilde: Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask or lush, and he will tell you the truth. well Wilde didn't put the word lush in it.

Im fairly open: My first name is on my profile, I am a real nurse. My location is on my profile. I do keep my last name private. A couple of people on here have received my email. Im a little touchier with my phone number as I have had issues with people with it in the past. Again I have given to a couple people.
Who would have guessed that my little tale, the very First one I ever submitted to Lush would be read by so many? It shocks me a little to realize that it has now served over 20,000! Charge NurseThank you so very much to those who have read it!

TraceyAmes wrote:An excellent question. The vast majority of people here live under a pseudonym, me included. I have revealed my true name to only 3 people here on Lush. Although have some 200 "Friends", there are only 3 people I trust. Trust must be earned and not taken for granted. I correspond with these people very frequently. One of these people lives in Australia and I actually had the pleasure of meeting with and staying with her and her partner 5 weeks ago. I was very apprehensive at first, but through frequent emails and eventually telephone calls, I became more at ease with the situation. I saw it as a situation where I could help a person in genuine need, who was crying out for help. Bit by bit I revealed my real self, my dark secrets and more. Hi Tracey. I am one of those privileged few to know you as both a mother and a lover; fate brought us together but nothing will ever bring us apart. I know why you use a pseudonym and its for a very good reason. I couldn't believe it when you accepted me as a friend and I was on cloud 10 when you gave me your phone number. meeting you was the best experience of my life. You have a big heart and you are such a wonderful person. Hugs and kisses from Callie

I haven't been forthcoming about my real identity for obvious reasons. I trust you all will be discreet. If I see ya out somewhere maybe I'll give ya a Cadillac, but don't tell anyone. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go and get another peanut butter & 'nanner sandwich. Thankya, thankya verimuch.

Haha people used to call me elvis when I had a fucking pompadour like that... I got the lip curl down. I have only revealed my real identity and face to a couple people on here. They could find me easily if they wanted now that I think about it... And I'm glad I got to know them. They are both highly intelligent and I value their opinion on almost any matter besides peeing standing up, but that's about it. Like any other type of friendship there are ups and downs but that's why I like them in my life.

One person knows what my facebook is, however you can see literally nothing of my facebook bar my profile picture (and it's a person I 100% trust anyhow) so it's fine. A select few people have been told my first name, two or three people know what city I live in, I'm sure that more could find me relatively easily if they everything together, but thankfully I don't think I'm interesting enough to attract the stalker-types! Here's to hoping anyway

There are few people here who have seen pictures of me and more or less know where I live. Some of my friends and most of the moderating team know my first name. One person I have met and we have become good friends and have even been to each other's houses. And of course there is my boyfriend, who I met on here almost two years ago. Obviously he knows the real me...all of me ;) Edit: The pics in my gallery (visible to friend's only) are all of me. My av is not me but those who have met me say it's pretty darn close to the real thing!

So far four. Two if you don't include Nicola and Gav. I keep my identity here private because I don't want people coming here following me. I am very well known in my world. The only reason I have revealed my identity here is because it was necessary at the time.

Two and it went very well! I am always wondering how my hidden sexuality will be taken by people especially when I tell them my profession.
