i'm about 5'2 (average as an asian), and i do want my man to be taller, at least 4inches or more than me. why? coz i'm a girl that want to wear pretty high heels shoes now n then. and somehow i found man shorter or on equal height to me can be very intimidating, coz they can look "cuter" than me, if u get what i mean. of course, i mostly want to feel protected, and i dont get the feeling when i'm with them, unfortunately.

Same as sillyndelicious. I do like my guy to be taller than me. At least 5 or so inches taller if possible. Thankfully I'm also pretty short 5'1" so most guys here in the US are tall enough for it to not bug me. I did know one guy who was only 5'2". And he was a REALLY nice guy and quite interested in me for a bit. But it just didn't work. If I put my heels on I was a good 4-6 inches taller than him. It was just too weird. I felt like a jerk, but I just couldn't get over the height difference.

Well I have to agree that I like a guy that is taller than me. However for me thats not hard to do. I'm 4"11 there aren't many men shorter than that... but i did go pretty tall as my husband is 6"5 but id also like to say there are stigma against men that tall.. I know a lot of women who want the perfect height which is normally 5-6 inches taller

Hey people first I think this a stupid question, second some of you are looking at this the wrong way tall or short if he love you isn't that what counts.

I am definitely amused this thread is still going... I remember it fondly from ages ago. I think every woman has her "ideal" height for a guy (mine is around 6 feet). I actually tend not to go for super tall guys, just as I don't really go for super short guys. Do I diverge from my 'ideal' though? - Absolutely. Height isn't the most important factor when it comes to attraction, but I think every girl has a minimum requirement to 'ride this ride', and it's usually about 3-4 inches taller than what she is. I have known some very tall women who date/marry shorter men. I admire that they can get over that stigma. Of course, it usually helps that the guys are loaded and willing to drop $10K on designer flats (shoes) for their statuesque trophy babes.

When I was single I dated girls from 5'1" to 6'1" tall. I am 5'11" tall and weigh 200lbs. with a 33" waist. Will that work? I like to wear cowboy boots or motorcycle boots with jeans and those boots always make me at least 1 inch taller if not slightly more. That comes in handy. My wife is 5'7-1/2" tall and she has amazing legs which she loves to show off in heels or tall wedges. She has got some heels that I swear are so tall she needs to wear an oxygen mask with them. I tell her that anyhow. So in heels she is almost even with me. But I usually wear cowboy boots even to dress up functions and that keeps me a little taller than her. This is kind of funny. Some of y'all know that I've known my wife since we were toddlers. Well, she grew to her full adult by the time she had turned 13. I was always short as a kid, much shorter than her. I saw her regularly when our families visited and then from 13 to 18 for some reason I was not around, sports practice or whatever and never saw her in person again until we were 18. At 14 it seemed like I blinked my eye and I suddenly was at 5'11" puberty kicked in and I grew. Anyhow at age 18 when I went to the Christmas party with my family at her parent's house I think I expected her to be a giant Amazon. Thank God she wasn't and I think she was glad that I had finally grown taller than her. Anyhow one look at her and whoa damn my heart almost jumped out of my chest and BOING I almost popped the zipper on my trousers! Wow I could hardly speak. She still takes my breath away.

I'm 5'2 so I'm quite small and everyone notices! I love being this small though as much as i would love to have long legs because i can wear really high heels when i go out which i love. I do love my men to be tall and well built but if i did really like someone who was good looking and a bit short then i wouldn't single him out! I don't think you should tease him over it though now you know its bothering him. :) Hope you get him to change his mind and get him to come out with you all still, otherwise he will never find a woman who likes a short guy lol.

I prefer taller guys since they are sexier (but I don't want to date someone who is so tall that my neck would hurt from just staring at him)

hmm... i am honestly attracted to men of all heights. i'm 5'7 , my best relationship was with a guy my height. my worst was with a guy 6'8. i will admit that a taller man will catch my eye first, and that i've never dated anyone shorter than me.

A guy doesn't have to be super tall for me to be attracted to him, but for some reason, I like a guy to be taller than me. I feel safer that way. Plus, if a guy wasn't taller than me, I wouldn't be able to wear heels!

I'm a shade under 5'9 and have many of the same feelings as the post creators friend of not feeling into hanging out with my friends at bars unless its just kind of a guys night out as to the fact that I'm the shortest of them all. And a while back I read an article (I forget where) in which they did a survey of women and who they would would choose, tall guys that have nothing going for them or short(er) guys who have the world at their feet and overwhelmingly the women chose the taller of the crowd. The line that was drawn for short(er) was 5'10. One woman was even quoted as saying she wouldn't be with a guy who was under 6'.

My girlfriend and I are the same height (she may be ever so slightly taller). We look a bit odd when we go out together and she wears heels but we just laugh about it. I like a tall girl, myself. (I'm not particularly short, she's just tall for a woman).

I am 6,2 tall and 160 pounds with a 33" or 34 waist. I usually wear black combat boots or black loafers mainly because my foot size is 13 and it looks silly for me to wear just stylish type of shoes but regardless my feet look big in any show. And as for the tool between the legs, last time I measured (Yes I do measure) it was 8 and a half inches long and almost 2 and a half inches thick all around. I've usually dated females much shorter than me but the tallest woman I've dated was 5'9. I enjoy my height but sometimes it sucks when I continously hit my head on things. In all honesty height is no preference to me but I do prefer shorter women.

I generally go for a taller man. My husband is 6'3".
However, thinking about it, some of my best lovers have been around my height (5'7.5").
I like the feeling of protection from a taller guy, but when a guy is nearer your own height there are advantages to the way things line up when you do things together... hahahah

You know what I've found to be rather interesting over the last 30 years of observing people in those kinds of meat market settings? A lot of women (and men) tend to go 'after' or be attracted by the unique individuals. So if you stand out a bit in the crowd (and in your case...your crowd is a bunch of other much taller dudes) you are the focus of those people who are seeking unique, for however long. And you have one chance to make a good 1st impression. If your tail is between your legs or you're feeling exceptionally self conscious or wall-flowerish...meh, some women might go for that vibe. Most would probably tend to go for the confident, jovial/gregarious or perhaps the quiet/confident dude. When I'm out n about, I don't limit myself to 'just' those particular women who I prefer. I scope everyone out. And the unique girls/women...tend to catch and hold my attention. Especially if I see their eyes smiling.

I'm 5' 1 and 3/4" (yes that 3/4's" does matter, grins) I love wearing heels and I like tall guys... I usually date around 5' 11"- 6' and I haven't dated anyone under 5'8" and I wouldn't because I couldn't bare to be taller in heels that the guy I was with. I also love having 'lift off the floor hugs' which tall guys can do...
Also the few shorter guys I know really mostly do have a bit of a complex about being shorter. They're a little sharper in attitude and a little more grumpy. There's another extremely personal reason I wouldn't date a shorter guy which isn't superficial at all.
But in a nutshell I think height does matter for a lot of men and women... Just my personal thoughts...

For those saying that by being with a taller guy means that they are able to be picked up and thrown onto the bed. I'm taller than my boyfriend, but a couple inches, and he picks me up all the time. And throws me onto the bed. I have to agree on one thing though, it is an incredible turn on. Oh, I always wear heels a lot. He still picks me up and throws me on the bed and he is still able to turn me on
