summer is made of sunshine and a time when kitties can like in windows and soak up the heat until it rises like steam from their bellies. summer is my favorite time of year, even better then spring, which i also love, and autumn which i love almost as much and winter when you snuggle and drink hot chocolate and christmas comes and the stars and lights glisten, i love that too. everything is full of melty love. summer is made for being naked. Bare legs, breezy linen clothing, wild curly summer hair (no point straightening it in the humidity), and long summer evenings eating and drinking at outdoor patios. Invitations on friends' cruiser out on the lake. Somehow summer is the sexiest season of the year.

Is it wrong for me to say that wearing next to nothing is the best part of summer? Oh and swimming outside, picnics and barbecues.
Naw...wearing next to nothing is cool...and sexy, but what reminds of the Summer is all you said; swimming outside, picnics and barbecues.

PIMMS, strawberries and cream, smoked salmon, the sound of leather on willow, cut grass, thunder storms and rain, the mad dash for cover, the sweet smell after the rain

The sound of a tractor in the distance, bailing hay.
The smell of fresh hay as it is being raked into furrows for bailing.
That slight sting on the end of your nose from the bubbles in the tonic water, and the mixed smell of lime and Bombay gin.
Meals of tomatoes with mayonnaise and thinly sliced onion, and corn cooked in the husks on the grilll, then opened and slathered in butter.
The slight ache in your shoulders after a day spent swinging a scythe. And that sudden chill of jumping into the pond fully clothed after working up in the top of the barn, stacking the mow. (Gee... can you tell that making hay is my favorite part of farming? LOL)

These are two separate questions.
"What says summer to you?" As I live by the beach, what says summer to me is a massive influx of pale-skinned, confused tourists.
"What do you like most about summer?" ( a different question) The scent of hot pine and beech and cedar trees in the woods; the warm scent of perfume in the hot summer air at night; the touch of sweat-slick skin; the taste of that salty skin. Stuff like that.

When it's scorching hot outside and I am permitted to wear shorts without looking like a crazy person. I really dislike wearing pants (unless I have to dress casual) and in the winter I still wear shorts, I just add Knee-High socks and boots to my wardrobe. The blazed sun gives perfect excuses to go to the beach or river seemingly every day, and there you will find Bikinis and shirtless men Whistles

Summer is my absolute favorite time of the year everything feels soo much more fun in the summer compared to any other time of the year.
My favorite things would be, going swimming in a lake or a pool with friends, getting a nice tan again after winter, summer partie's with all the awesome summer song's, hot guys, eating ice cream with friends, summer crushes, being able to wear flip flops sunglasses and hot pants and a top or a cute summer dress everyday, or just relaxing at a friends garden talking about boys. Summer is the best thing in the world!

I don't understand this "summer" thing. We only get Winter, Spring and Autumn in England.

When you wear sunglasses more than you wear your prescriptions; when you see heat snakes on asphalt in the distance; when the scent of gasoline hangs lower, thicker, stronger in heavily-trafficked streets; when you long for just one minute of winter air; when you see the sunlight lift weight off peoples' shoulders; when 8PM is a hot golden haze; when you hear the silvery laughter of children (possibly in your backyard); when rainfall feels most quenching; when you find yourself smiling to yourself more often; when you see your friends more; when you think the day couldn't get any more beautiful and it does; when nothing matters more than living in the moment...
The list goes on.
Are you truly awake?
