I think DD's profile is great, but the main reason she has so many friends and followers is because she writes AMAZING stories and her delicious sexually adventurous attitude!!

I'm trying not to make this sound like a rant. But someone who shan't (lol, shan't) be named sent me a PM saying my profile had too much going on and that I, and I quote, "Am taking this thing waaay too seriously. People come here for sex. Not to see you trying to be Ms. Popularity." I was too caught off guard and the message was too ridiculous for me to even attempt to be offended. I should also note that this person's profile was bare and lacking in even an avatar. And the gender was left ambiguous. I'm not even sure how said person stumbled across my profile in my lowly corner of Lush. I mean I'm chalking it up to disgruntled boredom. Which I didn't even know existed until about 3 minutes ago. But I digress. It just all seemed rather bazaar to me.

Has anyone else been criticized (and I use the term loosely in this case) because of something so trivial as your Lush Profile??

I haven't. And what that person said to you sucks, who are they to even pass judgment.

The only remarks I've every received are for more info, bizarrely enough from people who chat to me anyway and can just ask me if they need to know anything

I think the common theme of people having randoms come along and and slagging them off are the profiles that lay down rules of interaction: "Don't add me as a friend until we've spoken in the chat room" "I have a boyfriend so I only talk to women" "don't chat to me until you've added me as a friend" and so on and so forth. I guess some people see these statements as a personal snub rather than as a blanket statement of your own preferences.

In their head when someone says "I don't accept random friend requests" they read "I'm so sexy and popular i don't need the likes of you wasting my time" - which is probably what they get most of the time in real life. They're probably the sort who after offering to buy you a drink and being declined would hurl abuse at you. I'd read his message as "I struggle in society, please avoid me"

Warning: The opinions above are those of an anonymous individual on the internet. They are opinions, unless they're facts. They may be ill-informed, out of touch with reality or just plain stupid. They may contain traces of irony. If reading these opinions causes you to be become outraged or you start displaying the symptoms of outrage, stop reading them immediately. If symptoms persist, consult a psychiatrist.

A somewhat cynical view I think. I state that 'I don't accept random friend requests, because I just don't see the point.' I stand by that opinion, apart from filling your friends list with random strangers that you might never interact with, what exactly is the point?

That has nothing to do with the opinion I have of myself, surely.

I think you've mis-understood what i was getting at.

It's nothing about your opinion of yourself, it's how others mis-interpret statements you put on your profile. We're all entitled to pick and choose whoever we speak to on here.

I have received several very kind comments about my Bio and have never been criticized for any part of my profile. I find it odd that anyone would. This is a social site, it's strange that someone would come here to be unsociable.

I had a look at the ops profile and found it to be very nice.

To make it start automatically, you need to make a change in the code you embedded. In two spots in the code it says &p=0. You need to change these to read &p=1. Hope this helps!icon_smile

Thanks for the tip what worked was changing the code you listed but to &p=2 thanks again!

Changing it to &p=2 will make it start automatically playing the second song on your playlist. &p=1 makes it start from the top of your list.

I have not been criticized for my profile. So far I have gotten praise for my playlist, Av, and profile background during my time here at lush.
Or maybe they're just saying that to start conversation?dontknow
It does not bother me either way :)

I know exactly what overmykneenow was saying... and honestly I have thought the same things when viewing some profiles. The problem is that those who write them like that get defensive and can't SEE that a good many WILL see it exactly like that. ;) But I would never contact the person and tell them that... I would just move on to other more friendly profiles or ones that I thought were a better "match" for me. No worries. heck, at some point they may contact me because they see one of my posts or future stories. It's all good. :)

I have a semi long profile, though I change mine often. I have had a few people tease me saying I have a long one, but never out right made it seem like a bad thing. I think it’s actually better to see a detailed profile rather than a next to nothing profile. Even the bare minimum profile’s lack something. I like when people take the effort to make it “them”.

I think it’s silly for anyone to get upset if someone else’s profile is too long. You’re not forced to read it all, you can even skim through it if it’s too long.

The longer the better, I say!

I am still quite new here, but, here's my two cents worth...

If people only come here for "sex" they certainly have no room for criticism. Friendship, comraderie, social intercourse, commentary, sharing like-mindedness, etc. are the crux of almost any website that engages in any form of social discourse and/or information. If you don't "get" that, then you're a techno-ass with no social graces who should be going elsewhere. Why, even the webcam girls have "profiles". I am sure that Lush Stories came about to fulfill a need/want of sharing erotic tales as well as promoting intercourse (the social kind, you pervs) between users. If you're just coming to the site to scrounge around and find cyber-sex partners without knowing anything about them or they about you, what a sad and selfish little masturbatory life you have. Just my opinion, of course.

So far, no one has said my profile has "too much stuff" on it. And if they don't want to get, in return, my "response", I suggest they don't either.

I had somebody once tell me it takes a while to scroll down my page...alright, my "notes" section is over 7k words...

But, if that's their worst problem...it really don't bother me...feel free to do whatever you want with your page btw...as long as it don't violate the rules...

Jealousy. Unfortunately it tends to make people bitchy
