The dream job might not be what you would like to do, since you think you love it, and might not have nothing to do with lots of money.
A great book by Marsha Sinetar " Do what you love, the money will follow"
The dream job might be the one that many are already doing as a hobby.
Confucius said “Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”
Practice what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not know. — Rembrandt
There is poetry as soon as we realize that we possess nothing. — John Cage

I'm essentially doing it. I'm an army medic in Afghanistan. Very few things that I can think of that are this rewarding.
The only thing better is perhaps being more involved in saving lives. Maybe an anesthesia provider.

Like several others on here, I would like to be a photographer, or a successful author

I chased my dream and have my dream job, and honestly, since I'm willing to work in what's considered the wild west in my neck of the woods, the pay is amazing!

I have been very lucly to work many of the jobs I have wanted. I was the Barn Manager/Asst trainer for a National Champion winning Trainer(I also worked for some WC winning trainers also). I have been privileged to ride/work with/train/show some phenomenal horses. I baked cakes/pies through school. Now I work with exotic animals half of the year and work with some very needy people during the rest of the year. I truly have been blessed. I have also discovered that yes do something you love. But don't make your avocation your vocation. It leaves you to burnt out to enjoy it as an avocation anymore. Check out this competition entry from Delphi! Hardcore, just the way I like it! Even though it took over fourty years to find it, I have my dream job! I'm officially retired, but work 2-3 days a week at small boutique winery. I spend my day pouring wine, scmoozing with customers, educating those that want it, flirting with those who don't, tasting wine and, generally, enjoying life to the fullest. Had I found this gig at 21, I'd have less grey hair, but I'd be on my third liver.
As the Geico Gecko likes to say, "Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life!"
