Any medium of creativity, whether literary or something else like music, can't be measured by any set of guidelines. Sure, you can educate yourself on certain techniques for writing or music, but in the end, you're not going to be able to encapsulate the value of any good piece of writing in a set of rules or preconceptions. If it's good, it will be good not based on your expectations, but simply because it resonates within you. I enjoy good dialog, but some of the best books I ever read had very little in the way of conversation. Love in the Time of Cholera is a good example and several books by Cormac McCarthy like his Border Trilogy and The Road. Sorry if my point is off target for the thread by the way.... but anyway, that long pedantic blathering is my take on not having a favorite writing style/subject.

A story that feels real (easy does it sex has never and would not entice me) and becasue of various issues it should contain a bit of reluctance. Reluctance and wife would be a great combo.
Also for fun I would like to read a story with known historic, mythological or cartoon characters. I believe would be a challenge to incorporate details and facts combined with erotica.

I'm easy on what I like in a story as long as it is decently written (i.e. the grammar, spelling, and style are not so bad as to be a distraction) and the story and characters get my attention in some way. And, of course, so long as it turns me on in some way. For instance, I'm not always crazy about the supernatural in erotic stories, but every now and then I'll hit one that works. I'm not really into the long, multi-chapter stuff, though a lot of that is having the time to read it all the way through. I don't have much time for reading novels in book form either so mostly read short fiction, essays, etc.

I like stories that are well written and don't have characters or writers with very potty mouths, as this is a turn off for me in stories and feels like the author is just trying to cheap their way out of writing something with real depth.

I try to write stories the same way I enjoy reading them. I prefer content and a plot that is rich with detail. Good characters with lots of detail. I have to admit this ends up being a longer story; however, I would prefer that to a shorter story with no depth. I know many writers here that are able to tell an amazing short, short story. I don't have that talent. In terms of themes I tend to prefer group sex, MILF, threesomes, bisexual, and well done incest mostly sibling.
