I started playing in bar bands in 1973. I'll be happy if I never had to play OR LISTEN to ANY Lynyrd Skynyrd for the rest of my life. Especially 'gimme 3 steps' or 'sweet home Alabama' - such mindless, pedestrian rock. ARRRRRGH.

I agree as well, Moon. I still hear people describe UB-40 as 'Reggae' - I contend it's more Ska than Reggae. And pedestrian Ska, at that. The bass lines differentiate it from true Reggae. I much prefer (King) Yellowman

But then I looked at your profile and saw you favorite music and saw David Gilmour and Ritchie Blackmore listed as your guitar idols and I thought, OK he does have good taste. And seeing Pat Travers listed re-enforced it. BUT. then I saw Patty Smyth and YUK!! Is there a more annoying song then "Good By To You"? Maybe Europe's "Final Countdown" or Starship' "We Bult This City" but not much else. HAHA But Patty is very good singer but unfortunately to me she will always be associated with that song!!

A vast amount of modern pop, particularly LFMAO, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and a lot of Katy Perry's music.
Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for these people, they have excelled and become very successful in an industry that I could never even be passable in. But it doesn't stop me from really disliking a lot of their work.

As far as their studio recordings, I'd have to agree, but Man, I loved to watch them play live at their peak (Around the time 'You Get What You Play For' came out around the mid-70's. They rocked live.

Steve Millar Band: The Joker. When they play the wolf whistle on the guitar it really sets my teeth on edge. Abracadabra drives me scatty too, because when it was released I was sharing a house with an illusionist and his assistant who played the song and video constantly.

Anything by giggly girly pop singers that dont even write their own lyrics. Justin Beiber Anything that has the same beats or rifts throughout the entire song. Most country because it tends to all kind of sound the same to me Anything by anyone that used to be on a disney show pretty much.

Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. If I have to hear that song being sung terribly at another karaoke bar, I'm going to punch that individual in the face for ruining a classic.
