Those of you who know me well know that I'm basically a hetero-guy who enjoys channeling my Lush writing and posting through 'Stephanie'..... (Who I adore, the wanton slut...)
There a couple of celebrity crushes I'll readily admit to, Rene Zellweger seems like a bit of a dote, Thandie Newton might be one of the most beautiful women alive and Nicole Kidman's intrinsic iciness makes me wish I might have the opportunity to thaw her out..... And there are other girls....
But......
If I had to PICK JUST ONE celebrity crush....
It would be the US actor and avowed homosexual John Cameron Mitchell..
I first came across (oh stop!) John Cameron Mitchell when I first saw a movie called 'Hedwig And The Angry Inch', a sublime piece of Indie movie-making... (If you've never seen it please do....)
In the movie, Mr. Cameron Mitchell plays an East-German transexual who has relocated to the USA, with little success.... The movie is beautiful, the concept is beautiful and Mr. Cameron Mitchell, in the lead, is simply beautiful....
I've since seen him in other things, and always he simply seems like the kind of person I'd LOVE to know....
Now, as some of you know, I've experimented with other men and decided that sex with men is something that really just doesn't do it for me.... I don't like it and I'm not very good at it!!!!
But I'd DIE to have dinner with John Cameron Mitchell..... He's clever, funny, intelligent, incredibly talented, louche, elegant and utterly fascinating....
And YES...... I think he's very beautiful.... (And that matters....)
I've NEVER had a sexual fantasy about him in my life, (nor truly any other male) but anytime I see him my heart flutters!!!! Girlfriends of mine have observed this and think it's cute.... My gay friends simply raise their eyebrows and check their watches in case it's time for me to come out.... BUT IT ISN"T!!!!!!
(A friend of mine recently performed in a Broadway show that John Cameron Mitchell attended and met him afterward..... I was SOOOOO envious! My friend said he was lovely!!!)
I've no idea what I'd do if I ever met him..... I certainly couldn't fuck him.... (Could I????)
But he makes me giddy every time I see him and if that ain't a Crush I dunno what is!
