And the next step then would be to set the privacy level for each photo album, right?

I haven't had time to play with the new feature yet but indeed I mean that you can set with whom you want to share an album. If you can actually set it based on individual friends then that's groovy.

It's cool and the gang.
Give it a twirl; you will probably be our second male member to create an album (I had to create on to test, honest).

Just a little one....next to your 'you last said' blog/status, whatever you want to call it....it might be useful to have a time/date (or just date) feature....I simply keep seeing cases of 'wish me luck' ...wishing them luck....and then finding out it was for 5 days previous - oops!

Haha, yeah I tried it out and it seems to be working well. I did delete my test photo album though. It had info about the location of the droids you seek so...

I hope this wasn't asked before, since I didn't want to run through the 10+ pages of this thread.
Is it possible, other than the "report offensive post" link to allow an author to delete unwanted comments from their published stories, similar to the ability to delete users comments from your profile image gallery?

Beside each comment on every story should appear x delete. Clicking this will delete the unwanted comment.

I'm afraid TT thats for moderators only.
We took the decision that authors could not remove comments from their own stories early on. This was mainly to stop people removing all the critical or negative posts, leaving only the favorable ones.
If you see spam posts or deliberate flaming posts then please let one of the moderators know.
Thanks.

Embed Google Gadgets to our profiles On any Google Gadget page, on the right hand side, exists a button that says "Embed this gadget". Thousands of customization options instantly available for our profiles. Just a thought. I wouldn't be surprised if you shoot it down. But it could be pretty nice putting some of the gadgets into our profile.

I am having this problem, when I try to add a story to my favourite list I am sent to the "update personal details" page and the story is not added. I tried with different stories and it was always the same.
With the start of each new day I find myself thinking of you. In the middle of my busy day my mind wanders and I think of you. Out of nowhere I see your smile, hear your laugh and I think of you. Life is beautiful now because I fall in love all over again each time I think of you.

Any chance you could install a handy meter such as this, for use in the forum, Gav?

Luckily they allow the authors this control at Literotica, as it should be. Authors SHOULD be able to delete the haters.

I totally agree with Sharon. As many problems as I have had with catliterotica the author is allowed control over the fate of the comments posted on their stories. In the past here I have had a couple of deragatory comments which had nothing to do with the story or writing posted on my stories, and requesting to have them removed gets all other comments stricken, so why not let the author have control over the comments? People comment and vote according to their opinion and not according to what comments are posted, so it's not like striking negative comments is going to help someone jack up their score or upset the balance of power. I've seen favorable reviews posted on mainstream works that were absolute crap, and at least here the comments and reviews come at the end of the story instead of the beginning. Anyway, much of the time critical comments are made for the author's benifit only, so why not let them remove some of those? -Master Vyle

On Shiterotica, people are allowed to post anonymous comments, which seems to encourage some idiots to go around posting obscene, negative comments on stories as they come out...I have not seen anything equivalent here... Would you like to be able to remove negative votes as well??? Now that would be an idea...

Every site has their drawbacks, this is one of them for here, in my opinion. Authors should have the control. And the negative, anonymous comments there are easily deleted as stated. I have a lot of fans at Literotica, the only gripe I have about it there is the chat.

We initially set it up so all comments were allowed. We quickly found out that people who are not accountable for their actions, would run down the first page of stories writing dross comments on the lot, for their purile enjoyment. Nobody can leave a comment now unless they are a member. The accountability all but does away with the problem totally. If a member leaves a negative and unwarranted comment, the author has the opportunity to contact them if they so desire. As Gav mentioned, allowing members to remove all the comments that they don't particularly like, leaving only the positive ones, would bias newer comments for one thing. "Negative" feedback usually contains some constructive criticism, which may also benefit other authors who are viewing the comments after reading your story. It is easy to have an admin remove a comment which really shouldn't be there, there is a "Report offensive post" link at the top of the comments area. They are usually removed within 24 hours, if not sooner.

It's your site, you will do as you wish obviously, just as I will do when I have my own site, hopefully later this year. I will take the authors feelings into account though on my site.

I regularly post these kind of threads to get feedback from authors / members. That rather proves I am / we are interested in making this collectively the best site of its kind out there, taking into account the thoughts and feelings of our membership. If you notice, we even have a whole sub forum dedicated to these threads.
You can't please everyone all of the time. I'm looking forward to seeing your site later in the year, please send me the URL when it's up.

I also post on the site that you mentioned. The kind of comments I have gotten there have included desires for the characters in my stories to be murdered, hit by a bus or "hopefully sold into sexual slavery to get what they deserve"... I don't bother deleting the comments. All press is good press. I also don't take it that seriously, but rather find it entertaining that my writing has been provocative enough to elicit such strong opinions. My intelligent readers with half a brain will also find 'outrageous comments' amusing. Having said that, I very rarely see shocking comments here on Lush. In fact I rarely see any negative comments at all, even if the writing is atrocious. On rare occasion, I'll see some constructive criticism or opinion and take it for what it is; a reader who cared enough to give you feedback. If we allow every non-glowing comment to be scrubbed, then it really makes readers feel like there is no point other than loading on the praise every single time. This leaves no opportunity for growth in one's writing. I value the opinions and constructive criticism quite a lot, and always thank the people that go out of their way to give me this kind of feedback. Nicola and the moderators bend over backwards here to ensure that authors are treated fairly and to ensure that if they have an issue such as a legitimate unfair vote/comment, that it is dealt with in a very timely manner. The system is very well policed. That's something you won't get on any other site. A writer that publishes anything is up for reviews and criticism. I can't see bonafide authors emailing Amazon.com to demand that a non-glowing review be deleted because it's their right to censor such things. Critics, publishers, editors, and readers all have a right to express their opinions, provided that they aren't 'flaming' or deliberately malicious and unfounded (in which case the site mods will scrub it asap on this site). I consider it a privilege to have people read anything I write. Some will like the stories, some will not, but in the end if you stand by what you publish and take everything with a grain of salt, it should give you valuable feedback for when you write your next piece. And I think that's what we're all after here in the first place. Just my ...

Dear Doll - sorry about the bus comments - really, tho, i think it would have added a little needed drama to have one or two bus deaths in your stories. maybe some a zombie plague or two, as well! Bitches in the Basement on Amazon by our own Dancing Doll
