LOL...You're lucky it's just the characters in your stories that they want murdered or hit by a bus... Usually it's me they want killed... Btw Doll...I agree with everything you said here, very well put...as usual...

In our own profile, is there a way to have a "show/hide" option for friends comments? something like: « / » right next to "friends comments"
Thanks!!!

One good thing would be the ability to have video chat, at least where you can see cam to cam, audio optional
Well that's just my opinion, sorry if you don't like.

I also post on the site that you mentioned. The kind of comments I have gotten there have included desires for the characters in my stories to be murdered, hit by a bus or "hopefully sold into sexual slavery to get what they deserve"... I don't bother deleting the comments. All press is good press. I also don't take it that seriously, but rather find it entertaining that my writing has been provocative enough to elicit such strong opinions. My intelligent readers with half a brain will also find 'outrageous comments' amusing. Having said that, I very rarely see shocking comments here on Lush. In fact I rarely see any negative comments at all, even if the writing is atrocious. On rare occasion, I'll see some constructive criticism or opinion and take it for what it is; a reader who cared enough to give you feedback. If we allow every non-glowing comment to be scrubbed, then it really makes readers feel like there is no point other than loading on the praise every single time. This leaves no opportunity for growth in one's writing. I value the opinions and constructive criticism quite a lot, and always thank the people that go out of their way to give me this kind of feedback. Nicola and the moderators bend over backwards here to ensure that authors are treated fairly and to ensure that if they have an issue such as a legitimate unfair vote/comment, that it is dealt with in a very timely manner. The system is very well policed. That's something you won't get on any other site. A writer that publishes anything is up for reviews and criticism. I can't see bonafide authors emailing Amazon.com to demand that a non-glowing review be deleted because it's their right to censor such things. Critics, publishers, editors, and readers all have a right to express their opinions, provided that they aren't 'flaming' or deliberately malicious and unfounded (in which case the site mods will scrub it asap on this site). I consider it a privilege to have people read anything I write. Some will like the stories, some will not, but in the end if you stand by what you publish and take everything with a grain of salt, it should give you valuable feedback for when you write your next piece. And I think that's what we're all after here in the first place. Just my ... It's a rare occasion indeed, when I agree wholeheartedly with Dancing_Doll, but it seems this is one of those times. I'm not as prolific as some other authors, so I'm probably not exposed to the rude or obnoxious comments as they are, either. I'm perfectly content with the way Nic and Gav have set the site up regarding comments on stories. If a person is willing to have their screen name connected to a rude or uselessly boorish statement, that's their prerogative. Other readers (and authors) will see it for what it is. And D_D, for what it's worth, my admiration of you has just officially been kicked up another notch.

I'm pretty sure it has been mentioned in the past but surely and 'Advanced' search facility is needed. I have used Literotica for years now and have lots of contcts from there and they all to a man (or woman) insist that it's their advanced search facilty that makes it the best. Surely with the vast number of stories now on Lust this facility is needed. I wait in hope

The stories search feature is due for an overhaul. Unfortunately our programmer is snowed under, he is working on the mobile version of our site currently, in between nursing his 2 newborns

I think it'd be a good feature to be able to turn off the font colours in the chat rooms. Our colour blind members would be thankful I am sure.

Oh, I got a suggestion... First off, would like to thank Gav and Nic for the emoticon additions...I think it's great...there are only a few I use regularly when posting in the forum, and since there are only a few that I use I have it memorized which page they are on when I post in the forum... For instance, the "cheers" emoticon... is on page two when posting here in the forums...no problem, I can remember that... The problem arises when I want to use the same emoticons in a PM...it seems the same emoticons are not on the same pages in both places... Is there any way to add some uniformity here, so that the emoticons appear on the same pages in both forum posts and PM's? It would make life a bit simpler... Cheers, Alan.

Is there a possbility that we could have options on our Friends list to be visible to some but not to others? Reason I ask..is though I love talking to everyone, sometimes I just want to talk to one person, while not 'snubbing' anyone else. I do love the 'inivisible' option, but then the person I want to talk to without interruption can't see me and if they are invisible I can't see them. Just a suggestion.

Yes, we have this feature already, although it seems not very well documented! Blocking helpEssentially, you can block friends so they cannot see you online, but they remain as your friends. I think this should suit your situation.

The system is self-learning. It is trying to understand you interactions with your friends, good or bad and order them in the way it see's best. Either that, or there's a bug in the system

We have one at www.historiaslush.com (bottom right corner). I am not all that keen on having one here too unless there's pressing member demand. I find them a little distracting and interfere with the site design. It's still doable if necessary.

Great for school or when I'm around family. Too bad MS Windows users don't have those. Mac users have poorly implemented virtual desktops so it doesn't really work that well for them either.

It's funny you should mention that...my friends list did the same thing... I have never touched the order of my friends list...somehow I thought that might be asking for trouble, I know how some people are about certain things...it's sort of like who sits at what table at a wedding... But, somehow mine got rearranged...I noticed Pixie ended up on top...I wonder if she had anything to do with it...

Thanks for your assistance in testing and debugging this problem Kiki.
Everyones profile should be fixed up now and friends are back in the correct order. The re-shuffle *should* now be resolved, for good!

Ahhhh, no...Pixie is still in the number one spot on my friends list... Did she put you up to this? I don't really have a problem about the order personally, but my friends are no longer listed in alphabetical order when I click on the page which shows who is online... That was how I used to be able to find people I wanted to contact...click there and go down the alphabetical list...
