You could try right clicking the friend request link and open it in a new tab. It's a simple but effective workaround.
Simple, effective and easy to forget. Opening a persons profile from the pop-up chat should open a new tab, just like it does in the chat rooms. Sure hope it'll be possible to fix.

Maybe a weekly lush poll for the main page that posts the results when the next one goes up.

True it's easy to forget and probably as easy to fix, but once you've done something a couple of times, you begin to remember.

Is it Lush or is it Flush Warning: The opinions above are those of an anonymous individual on the internet. They are opinions, unless they're facts. They may be ill-informed, out of touch with reality or just plain stupid. They may contain traces of irony. If reading these opinions causes you to be become outraged or you start displaying the symptoms of outrage, stop reading them immediately. If symptoms persist, consult a psychiatrist. Something I've seen used successfully on another site is called "Props" (pretty much the same as a 'like' button except it gets totalled like a score) where someone is able to 'prop' a forum post if they like it. Then a person's "prop total" is a score under their forum Avatar/details. It encourages people to make more quality posts and rewards the people that do. The person is also able to privately view the list of people that have propped them and on what forum threads using a link on their profile. And there are limits to how many you can give per 24 hrs so it's not misused. Just throwing it out as an idea along the lines of the 'like' button concept.

Also, the ability to hide particular forums (I know we can hide, say, Entertainment but can't hide, say, Strange/Amusing Pics). This would mainly be to fuel my OCD though.

Okay, I know I'm becoming a pain in the arse now but... With the motivation being to not have stories appear on the front page for a day and then disappear into the abyss, never to be rated or commented on again, how about some sort of historical stories feature. This could take the form of, 'On This Day in Year Dot', and have a link to all the stories posted on that date. Or you could, say, the top 20 stories that were posted in the same month as the current one but from previous years, like 'May's Finest'. I just feel like if your story isn't EP standard, but still good, and you don't have hundreds of friends, it can be difficult to get anyone to read older work. Any variation on this theme would help.

I like this idea. There could also be different themes like "best underdog stories" for the ones that weren't as popular as they should have been or "ones to watch" and things of that ilk.

Not necessarily an improvement, but more of a tweak. When you click on "Active Topics", it obviously brings up the newest posts. Once you enter the thread, it directs you to the last page, if there is more than one, but once in there, I cant seem to go back through the older pages. You have to click on the thread header or the category header, then access the the thread that way. Just a thought....

X-1 [X]" where the numbers are clickable links and the one in square brackets is the page you're on. I just checked this out myself and this is still the case if you go via Active Topics. If it's not working for you then it would seem it's a problem with your own account and someone in tech should have a look.

nicola wrote:If you're on the front of the site, and press the [Random Story] button, a story say in the lesbian category is pulled up. Every subsequent press of the random button brings up a lesbian story only, no other categories. Is that deliberate? I thought if you pressed a random story button, you'd get any story out of our 10K or so, regardless of category. Or is this the only way to do it, so that if you want a random lesbian story only, having just read one and being in that category area, it will pull up those from that category only? If that's the case, you have to always go back to the home page first, and then press random again. This is still the way the Random Story button is. Could it be changed so that it truly is random? Now that people can block certain categories from appearing, there shouldn't be a problem, right?

Whenever I clicked on Random, I kept getting gay and crossdressing stories. What I really wanted was fairytales with gingerbread men, but I couldn't seem to find any. May I have my own button, please?
