I've always kept bits and bobs (a la McGyver) in my bookbag that come in handy in different situations. Elastics, paper clips, safety pin, batteries, thread, wire, velcro ties, magnets, leatherman tool, first aid, connecting plugs for A/V, mini torch, rain poncho and emergency blanket. Not from paranoia, just that each of these things has been useful at one time or another.

I used to do extra work in films. I have been on the set of many good films (Against the Ropes, Finding Forrester, Chicago, Big Spender, Martin & Lewis, X-Men) and TV shows (Monk, Queer as Folk) Very fun!!!
