Gosh no I do not think I have ever given oral sex to avoid having sex. I thought that was the appetizer to sex. Some of my sister my Lush Sister said they had oral sex with a guy, when they were not in the mood for intercourse.  Maybe that is the difference, I am rarely not in the mood for sex.

Sex is best when two people want to do it . I am an elderly man and have difficulty maintaining an erection unless really aroused ot have taken a pill . My wife is post menopause and has lost interest in sex , for the most part we don't kiss , cuddle and have foreplay as I would like , that would really turn me on . My wife more often will give me a blow job , that does give me a terrific orgasm , but I would really prefer unlimited kissing , foreplay , cunnilingus , 69 and then finish with a good fuck .

A blowjob is still sex lol, it's just oral sex as opposed to intercourse.
But I wouldn't give one to 'avoid' intercourse; if I didn't want to have it (ie: time of the month, really tired, etc) I'd let him know.
That being said, if I'm out of commission down there, I'd certainly use my mouth to help and try to satisfy some needs.
