Be true to yourself. Live your life and enjoy yourself - smile and laugh as often as you can. As my Dad always used to say, shit happens - deal with it. Surround yourself with people you love, and who love you, and you can survive pretty much anything. And yes, try to do as much for yourself as you can, but you should ask for help when you need it. I'm still learning this one, and will struggle on and on without asking for help.

Honesty is always the best policy. sometimes honesty hurts the ones that you love, but they have to know what you're thinking. It will also put a strain on friendships. if they are a true friend they will understand that you are saying something out of unconditional love.
